Message 10/16/2008 19:40:15 Subject: Login Failed: Internal Application Error [resolved] Alert NecroBones MouthBreather Joined: 09/10/2008 13:14:52 Messages: 889 Offline Very odd. All https://forum.spore.com/jforum/posts/list/8892.page of a sudden, I can't connect online. Attempting to do so generates the http://steamcommunity.com/app/17390/discussions/0/540743757092912974/ error "There was an internal application error. Please try again." I tried rebooting, and still get there error. There's nothing wrong with my internet connection. Ideas? EDIT, 2008-10-27: RESOLVED. In my case (maybe not for others), it looks like the online sporepedia's method of subscribing to buddies and sporecasts can leave your subscriptions in a application error broken state, that can only be corrected by unsubscribing from those buddies and/or sporecasts. I had to unsubscribe from about 30 sporecasts, and finally I can log in. I have many subscriptions in total (a few hundred, probably, mostly as buddies), and it suddenly occurred to me that on patch day, I had been subscribing to sporecasts out of the "Rising Star Share" thread on the forum, and internal application error some of them were only partially loading on the screen in the browser. Upon looking in the online sporepedia later, it wasn't able to display my entire list of subscriptions properly at first. I had to go back to the forum thread to find several of the sporecasts' direct links, and unsubscribe several there, and then delete a few of my own. Only then did they start showing up in the sporepedia interface so I could remove more. After unsubscribing a whole bunch more, I was able to log in with the game. At first I thought this was an issue with the total number of subscriptions, but others have reported having the problem with only a few subscribed. I suspect now that if the sporepedia is acting up, or the AJAX transactions in the browser, then it's possible to get a corrupted subscription, or double-subscribe something. Removing the bad subscriptions is probably what corrects this inability to log in. EDIT, 2008-10-24: A summary of how things were: Attempting to log into the game with my account results in "Login Failed: There was an Internal Application Error." I'm not banned or suspended, nor have I used up my activations (a call to
