sizes drop down in the Page Setup or Plot dialog box. In the event you need to use a custom paper size, you must add a custom paper size to this list. This document discusses that process. Step 1: Open the PC3 file A PC3 file for your plotter is required before adding custom paper sizes to it. If you do not have a PC3 file for your plotter yet, run the Add A Plotter Wizard from the File -> Plotter Manager command in AutoCAD. For more information on creating PC3 files, see our document on Plotting in AutoCAD. Run the File -> Plotter Manager command in AutoCAD to see a list of configured PC3 files. Double-click on the one you wish to add custom paper size definitions to. Step 2: The PC3 File Editor There are two http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/printing-and-plotting/default-media-size-is-invalid/td-p/291994 methods of creating custom paper sizes in AutoCAD. The method you use depends on the type of plotting driver you use. To find out which driver is in use, select the Device and Document Settings tab in the Plotter Configuration Editor, and click on the Custom Paper Sizes icon. If the Custom Paper Sizes box is white and allows you to add custom paper sizes, you have an Autodesk Heidi plotter driver. Proceed to step 3. If the Custom Paper Sizes box is grayed out, click on the Custom Properties https://www.cadmasters.com/techsupp/acad/customps.html icon, and click the Custom Properties button. You are using the Windows System plotter drivers. Proceed to Step 4. Step 3: Heidi Driver Custom Paper Size Wizard Click on the Add button to start the Custom Paper Size Wizard. You will go through a series of dialog boxes that configure a custom paper size and attach it to the plotter you are configuring. The first dialog box asks if you want to start from scratch, or start with an existing paper size. Go ahead and start from scratch, and click on the next button. The Media Bounds dialog lets you set the custom paper size. Enter the dimensions of the paper you wish to plot out, without considering margins. Click on the Next button. If your paper size is too large for the plotter you are using, you will be notified. In the Printable Area dialog, enter the margins you wish to use for all sides of the paper. Click on the Next button to continue. In the Paper Size Name dialog, enter the name of the custom paper size you are creating. This will appear in the list of paper sizes in the AutoCAD 2000 Plot dialog box, so choose a good name. Keep the paper dimensions in the name, too. Click on the Next button to continue. In the File Name dialog, enter the name of the PMP file you wish to save the custom paper size configuration. You should use the default name provided, the same name as the PC3 file. This PMP file will be stored in the Printer Description File Se
