This is with several different drawings that will save fine for other users. I have relocated the automatic save path to a location on the local computer that he has full permissions. Please tell me that someone has some other ideas. This issue is driving me http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?35989-User-is-receiving-an-error-writing-closing-file-on-autosave up the wall. Thanks in advance. Corrupt Files Have a good one, Mike Reply With Quote 2006-03-21,02:25 PM #3 campbell.58097 View Profile View Forum Posts Active Member Join Date 2003-09 Location Missouri Posts 50 Re: User is receiving an error writing/closing file on autosave Mike, Thanks for the input. My first thought on this issue was corrupt file. I have been able to produce it with multiple files however. It is almost like something is interfering with the auto save. I just can not put my finger on what it is. In the last couple of weeks we both have been having the "Errorwriting / closing file" message pop up quite often (I believe when autosaving). Doesn't seem to affect anything just more of a nuisance. Also, we can't seem to modify http://autodesk.autocad.2000general.narkive.com/kenKiP3X/error-writing-closing-file-message any of my plot style tables. It keeps tellingus that there is an error saving then tells us to check security privlagesover our pier-to-pier network. My co-worker has had problems with customized toolbar menu's dropping outand files being opened as read-only even though the file is not openanywhere else. It's possible that windows was updated at some point as we have a fellow whochecks periodically for windows and nortan updates. Could this be ourproblem. Is autocad lt there some type of update we need. It seems odd to me thatboth AutoCAD's are having the same problems when they are not even the sameversion. There is only the two of us drafting here and we are in a small town sothere's not alot of expert help around so I'm counting on your help.Thanks,--Shelley dcd 2003-11-12 01:25:30 UTC PermalinkRaw Message ShelleySounds like the first thing you ought to (both) do is check autocad lt message the paths... theprogram is trying to save to places that either no longer exist or have newaccess privileges.Tools>Options...open the dialog and check Files tab paths - while it's openwhy not change the sv$ or ac$ format to a simple bak format for recovery -you can save to your hard drive - desktop, my Documents, or create an acadbackup/recover folder specially!Hope this helps - lemme knowDCD Shelley W 2003-11-13 12:49:58 UTC PermalinkRaw Message I have checked my paths and they appear to be correct.
