Asrock Beep Codes
18, 2009 at 18:05:14 Specs: Windows vista 64 Okay, I made a post and then it erased it all when I hit preview, so here is a short version. My computer will power up, all fans runnign full https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P5NSLI/ speed and all components seem to be operational. However, my computer does not POST or give any beep/messages (with speakers on full blast). Before this, I was getting a ton of BSOD so I upgraded all my drivers, however this obviously didnt help because its a hardware problem as it wont POST.Things I have tried:-switching out ram-test ram with memtest (before the computer stopped posting)-removed all ram (got no beep/message)-removed CPU (got no http://www.computing.net/answers/hardware/no-beep-no-post/61003.html beep/message)-removed all video cards (got no beep/message)Possibilities:PSU: I don't think its the PSU because the everything in the computer lights up, fans go at normal speed, and everything seems to have power. However, the PSU fan stopped - but it stopped working months before the problems started. Also, the PSU doesn't get real hot, even after a few hours of play. You see, when I first got the computer I was worried about overheating, because of sli cards, so I added additional fans and paid for "professional wiring" for optimal air flow (hell, it works). No, I havn't tried switching this out is because my older PSU was to old. (didnt have all the proper connectors for even the basic MOBO connection)My question is:-is it possible for a PSU to look like it all comes on, but still not have enough power for a MOBO to start POSTing?RAM:Im almost 99% sure its not the ram. I tried using my brothers ram, didnt do anything. Before the POSTing problem happened I tested my ram with memtest for about 12+ hour - got no errors. Also, I have tried all my ram (4 sticks) individually, in different slots, and nothing happened.CPU:I think it "could" be this because before the POSTing problem I did test this and with a 12+

Jun 1, 2009 #1 Main Target [H]ard|Gawd Messages: 1,690 Joined: Jul 5, 2004 So i got a PCI bios error code card. My mobo hangs at code 4E, which i havent been able to find any real helpful info about. I was hoping making members around here might have an idea. The booklet says this about 4E: Award - reboot if manufacturing mode: if not, display messages and enter setup AMI - the memory test st arted, but not as the result of a soft reset. displaying the first 64kb memory size next phoenix - display bios copyright notice The machine just sits at the asus splash screen. Any ideas? The Mobo, CPU and ram were all fully working before i pulled them out and switched some parts around. Thanks!
