able to connect to a Boinc Client. Would you like to try again? Yes/No I try again, and I get the same thing over an over, and the onlything that fixes it it rebooting, but only sometimes, not everytime. Appreciate any help. ____________ ID: 3663 · James DrewsSendmessage Joined: 6 Jan 06Posts: 38 Message 3679 - Posted: 28 Mar 2006, 17:10:23 UTC Check the task manager and see if boinc.exe is in the list of processes. If not, it sounds like the boinc.exe program died. You should be able to fix this by exiting the boinc manager program and restarting it. Boinc manager will start the boinc.exe program if it isn't running when you launch it. ____________ ID: 3679 · Alvaro GuevaraSendmessage Joined: 27 Mar 06Posts: 3 Message 3681 - Posted: 28 Mar 2006, 20:27:31 UTC Hey thanks. That was it, so I simply reinstalled and all was well. ____________ ID: 3681 · Mark YoungSendmessage Joined: 31 Mar 06Posts: 2 Message 3729 - Posted: 31 Mar 2006, 14:08:18 UTC This seems to have cured mine as well :-) However, have to ask the question, "What has changed on or before 29th March to cause this?" I have rebooted several times and each time it has failed to connect. I have tried at various times to use the "File" and "Select computer" route unsuccessfully to kick it into life again. Do I need now to add boinc.exe to my startup in WXP? ____________ ID: 3729 · Carlos_PfitznerSendmessage Joined: 14 Jan 06Posts: 18 Message 3738 - Posted: 1 Apr 2006, 14:16:54 UTC - in response to Message 3679. They are used by the client and applications. NOTE: Unix passes only 8 bits of exit code, and Unix uses roughly 1-137, so BOINC errors start at 192. EXIT_STATEFILE_WRITE 192 The client will exit if it cannot write to the client_state.xml file. Make sure you have permission to write to the BOINC Data directory. EXIT_SIGNAL https://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=727 193 The client, Manager and/or application will exit when getting the exit signal. EXIT_ABORTED_BY_CLIENT 194 Task was aborted by the BOINC client. EXIT_CHILD_FAILED 195 The science application running the task failed for unknown reasons. EXIT_MEM_LIMIT_EXCEEDED 198 The amount of memory that the task could use was greater than the limit set to the task. EXIT_CLIENT_EXITING 199 The task was ended when the client was exited. EXIT_UNSTARTED_LATE 200 Task was aborted due to it having not started and already past the deadline. EXIT_MISSING_COPROC 201 A coprocessor that was detected earlier went missing. Topic 187457 ANyone know what happens when you receive this message? I seem to have 5 Einstein WU's in the queue but BOINC doesn't seem to want to crunch these and instead I seem https://einsteinathome.org/content/error-message-got-request-delete-file-h1xxxxx to be crunching for one other project (CPDN) 100% (even though the prefs for the 2 projects are set at 50/50.) Hi Juerschi Tks for the reply. Strangley, I didn't see that previous thread you linked me to... I did look for boinc error messages any similar messages before I posted my msg...! Even so, it doesn't explain why: 1) I've still got 5 WU's in the "Work" window 2) BOINC isn't crunching any of them - I've been crunching a CPDN WU now for nearly 12 hours and in all that time, the Einstein WU's do not seem to receive any resource at all. (And Einstein has a greeater percentage share than CPDN - so Einstein should be the "priority" project). Maybe the trick is to "detach" this PC from the Einstein project - the WU's are already expired due to BOINC not giving them the time to be crunched. regards, Timbo regards, Tim UK BOINC Team Founder Join the UK BOINC Team: http://www.ukboincteam.org.uk/uk-boinc-team.html Keck_Komputers Joined: 18 Jan 05 Posts: 376 Credit: 3993591 RAC: 2882 Try restarting the 6 Feb 2005 19:54:16 UTC Message 2368 Try restarting the client/computer this will usually get things moving again. If that doesn't work look for negative numbers in the /debt tags in client_state.xml change to zero.
