Boxee File Sharing
Page : 1 Text Only ludhianvi Happy Member rated: posted: Oct. 19, 2013 @ 8:42p Need help, experts.I have a boxee box (wired internet connection) that has been working fine, accessing the content saved on a PC boxee box file sharing windows 7 (wired internet connection) running Windows 7 Home Premium. I have been using this setup to access the content on PC for the last 1 year or so. I dont recall having to do anything special to access the content on Boxee, it was basically Plug N play. However, recently, I had to reinstall the windows, and ever since then, I cant access the content saved on my PC. With sharing enabled (from google search), I can see boxee setup the drive on boxee, but still cant see the content. Boxee keeps asking for user name and password. I entered the details (both in Boxee settings as well as in Browse button), but nothing works, boxee basically keeps on asking for the details. I am positive that I am entering the correct credentials.Any advice on how to get the content back??Thanks in advance!! I have followed the instructions on following page: https://help.ubuntu.com/10.04/server...ileserver.html On the box that I am trying to setup as a Samba Server using Nautilus I can view the shares no problem. On another Ubuntu box no such luck. I can get too Windows Network and I can see my workgroup. When I try and open the workgroup I get the following dialogue box for some time: Opening "WORKGROUP". You can stop this operation by clicking cancel. And then this error dialogue box: Unable to mount location Failed to retrieve share list from server I have spent sometime trying to resolve this myself but have had little luck. As far as I know I have no firewalls in place; Ubuntu does not have one by default is that correct? At this time I don't have a Windows computer to try to connect too the server at this time, but plan to in the future that is why I want to use Samba. I am connecting the two boxes with an D-Link DIR-825 router; both boxes are on the same subnet. Are there settings in the router that could be affecting this? Can any one give me some help on how to troubleshoot and get this working? Cheers Adv Reply July 23rd, 2011 #2 brighty22 View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message Just Give Me the Beans! Very rarely is it a firewall or router
