Toner reset I'm lead to believe is to open door and take cartridge brother hl out then in quick succession push the go button, put the cartridge in, push the go button, close the door and push the go button. I've seen this take a few attempts as well. by unknown on Mar 26, 2008 at 8:19am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Make sure the toner reset gear within the toner cart is properly aligned and resets the switch. You'll have to look at a new one to see how to align it right. by Anonymous on Mar 27, 2008 at brother hl 5240 6:48am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 I think it may have to do with the cartridge not being OEM. At least that is what I think about our problem. It prints fine, but the toner lights flashes every 2 seconds. by Anonymous on Oct 15, 2009 at 1:09pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 my printer is not at all turning on when i switched it on. dont know wat is the problem, power chord is also normal. by unknown on Aug 27, 2012 at 3:21am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 my printer print , with wrikle paper//// by jaypatidar on Sep 6, 2014 at 8:01am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 most likely caused by worn or damaged fuser rollers. open the rear door and have a look at the grey metal roller and the orange pressure roller. they should be clean and smooth. if they are not, that would be your problem. by seriously on Sep 8, 2014 at 12:15am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 I got a red light in status and I can't print , I already checked if there any paper stocked but is clear , I tried to turn off and on holding the go botton but nothing happen :( , please help by unknown on Jul 28, 2015 at 6:49am Add comment Please sign in to comment Please sign in to comment Brother Compactronic I Buy discount ink Buy this printer More Brother questions © Copyright 2011-2016, FixYourOwnPrinter.com, Inc. Comp Master is online now Hi, My Brother HL-5240 shows the status light as red when Resolved Question: Hi, My Brother HL-5240 shows the status light as "red" when I turn on. No other lights light up (paper is fine, toner and drum are new). All covers are closed. But no printing. Cord is fine too. (Also, when I send printing through, the laptop says the printer is "idle," which could be related to the problem). Incidentally, this website http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/BSC/public/us/us/en/faq/faq/000000/000100/000070/faq000170_006.html?reg=us&c=us&lang=en&prod=hl5240_all explains what the different lights means, but I tried all methods, apart from upgrading the memory. But my printer was working just fine without upgrading the memory (and I'm not doing anything other than basic black and white printing.) When I press the "Job Cancel" button, the "red" status light actually turns "green". But still no printing. No sounds from the printer. Any ideas? Do I need more memory? Thank you! But before that just uninstall the printer completely from the pc.. Then unplug it from all connections.. Then power off the printer for 30 minutes.. It will reset the printer.. Then replug the printer.. and download the latest driver of the printer from the following link.. http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/BSC/public/us/us
