Opening Hard Disk Drive Ps3
My son has had his PS3 for a year now, and all of a sudden he got this message. I'm assuming it can't find the harddrive. How do I trouble shoot this problem, or fix it for https://www.youtube.com/embed/BNLNwvabrsE myself (if possible). Has the system suffered a fall lately? The drive may have becom unseated. If not try Safe Mode. Click the words Safe Mode for the link and follow the video. If this doesn't help it's time for a new drive. Let us know how things work out. When I turned it back on it said the PS3 was cannot start the not turned off correctly (as expected) and the data file was corrupted so I allowed it to try and fix the issue. It was stuck on 0% for a few hours, so I unplugged it again and plugged it back in. Upon turning it on the next time it said Cannot Start. The appropriate storage system was not found. I tried to enter safe mode but nothing happened and it just turned on to the same Cannot Start screen. Answered! Yes No Voted Undo Score 14 Cancel Comments: Telling the poor guy that you have the same problem, is the stupidest thing I have ever read. He needs a solution..not your problems. In my opinion, it the cost of repair is $150..it's cheaper than buying new. If you have $240..buy a new one. The appropriate system storage was not found."? It froze, and since then that's the message I receive when I start it up. I asked this question a couple days ago, and the only answer I got was telling me to remove the hard drive and put it back in. I have no idea how to do that, though. Help? Trending Now Answers Relevance Rating Newest Oldest Best Answer: Your HDD may have become loose, on the side of the PS3 is a little plastic panel that you can pop off with a flathead screwdriver or something similar. Once off you will see a square metal bit and a big blue screw. This screw is whats holding in your hard drive. Unscrew the screw, gently slide out the hard drive, and then carefully put it back in. Re-screw the screw, replace the panel and turn on the system =) Removing the hard drive will not void your warranty btw. Source(s): Chris · 4 years ago 2 Thumbs up 0 Thumbs down 1 comment Loading ...
