installed Black (8). Use only 1 ink tank per color at a time".Since I only have 1 ink tank per color installed, does anyone know how to get rid of this error (for good). I'm pretty disappointed in this printer. Had to have warranty canon mp830 error 6a00 work done on it after just 2 weeks of ownership. The warranty center is 2 hours away, canon mp830 error 6500 but I did find out that Canon will pay for shipping the printer as part of the warranty. 3 days ago the sheet feeder started jamming, tearing, canon mp830 error 5100 destroying anything I try to run through it. Now this error message. When it works, this is a great printer, but I shouldn't be having this many problems with a printer that is only 6 weeks old! Respond to this 0 I've read on

the 'net that this is due to a corrupt ink cartridge chip. Canon will replace the defective ink cartridge for free if under warranty. by unknown on Mar 23, 2007 at 6:58am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 I bought my MP 830 in 10/06. I have had both the "more than one ink tank installed" error almost from the beginning and the automatic paper cassette also never has worked properly. The only service center is a great distance away from me. Although tech support is willing canon mp830 error code 6a00 to warranty the unit, for a $250+ price tag this machine really should work better out of the box! by unknown on Sep 10, 2007 at 1:36pm Add comment Please sign in to comment I also bought my MP830 in 11/06. I've had constant trouble with the U071 error and one other. Finally called Canon support - after their SOP list of fixes the only thing they could offer was: 1) take to a service center @ $25 for estimate and $85/hr labor plus parts, or 2) a "loyalty code" for 15\% off and overnight shipping on a new Canon printer. Ugh! I don't like either option - I paid a bundle of $$ for a printer that has driven me crazy. It's great WHEN it works, but that is less and less frequently now without extensive unplugging and re-setting of print head, etc. I agree - this unit is a failure and a disappointment. I expected more from Canon! - Anonymous 0 Hello, I have a Canon MP 830 PIXMA error code 6A00 does anyone know what this is? So tell us what it is doing and why you keep having to reset things. Give us some more details. Don't get frustrated with Canon. Any MP is a very complicated piece of hardward and electronics, and you own a computer so you know how

With this error showing the printer will not work at all. This printer uses 5 ink tanks. The blue, red and yellow are thin, one black tank is thin, and one black tank is wide. I've canon mp830 error seen where other people have this problem with one of the color tanks, but in my case it's the PGI-5 (wide black) ink tank. I have tried different tanks of different brands, I have tried cleaning the chip with a pencil eraser and with alcohol, I have also tried cleaning the contacts in the print head (by reaching in since I don't know how to remove it), and I have removed the seat and cleaned it off as well. The seat did have quite a bit of ink on it and I was really hoping I'd found the problem. But swabbing it with alcohol didn't help, it just made it look better. lol I've tried every suggestion I've found thus far, including turning the printer off & on, holding the reset button for 30 seconds, and even tilting the printer. But obviously none of those did any good either. I have removed all the ink tanks and put them in one at a time, and always get the error when I install the big black ink tank. The tank lights up right away, and when I close the cover it shows me the error message and indicates this one tank as the problem. I really don't understand how it can indicate one tank and tell me there are two of them, or how I could get this error o
