This document specifically focuses on ISDN related issues that cause call failures. This document also assumes that you have verified that ISDN Layers 1 and 2 on both ends of the circuit are functioning. Refer to Using the show isdn status Command for BRI Troubleshooting for more information on verifying ISDN Layer 1 and 2 status. Prerequisites Requirements There are no specific requirements for this document. Components Used This document is not restricted to specific software and hardware versions. The information presented in this document was created from devices in a specific lab environment. All of the devices used in this document started with a cleared (default) configuration. If you are working in a live network, ensure that you understand the potential impact of any command before using it. Conventions For more information on document conventions, see the Cisco Technical Tips Conventions. Troubleshooting Prerequisites: Activating ISDN Layer 3 debugs Use the command debug isdn q931 on both ends to activate ISDN Layer 3 debugs. You should also have millisecond timestamps for debugs enabled on both routers. The timestamps are necessary to provide relative input to the troubleshooting process.
