4 Posts Classic ASP/IIS 7.5 and specifying a pickup directory. Sep 30, 2010 05:56 PM|darktrancer|LINK I'm currently having an issue with form that tries to send an email using CDO message using send method 1 that will write to the pickup directory under c:\inetpub\mailroot\pickup. We have tried enabling a globlal pickup directory on the server error 80040211 but the application is not picking up the settings and results in the following error message. CDO.Message.1 error '80040222' The pickup directory path is required and was not specified. Does anyone know how to get the classic asp application to pick up the settings from IIS 7.5? We do have this working on our old environment that is running Windows 2003 and IIS6 by specifying the pickup directory at the Metabase level. We have already made changes in IIS 7.5 to try and replicate the settings from our old server by changing the system.net/mailsettings/smtp deliverMethod = SpecifiedPickupDirectory PickupDirectoryLocation = c:\inetpub\mailroot\pickup Lastly we have tried specifying the path by using this line and the application works. Flds("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/smtpserverpickupdirectory") = "c:\inetpub\mailroot\pickup" But we need to do this for hundreds of sites this is the reason we are looking for a way to do it globally. Thanks in Advance, Victor Reply Leo Tang - M... 4142 Posts Re: Classic ASP/IIS 7.5 and specifying a pickup

However I'm getting this error when sending: error '80040211' /sendmail_cdo.asp, line 105 (on line 105: msg.send) I have done some research on this and a solution would be to set msg.Configuration.Fields.Item("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/sendusing") = 2 to: msg.Configuration.Fields.Item("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/sendusing") = 1 This worked great with the same script for another website, that is hosted on the same host GoDaddy (nicked: Go$hitty for their terrible support!), with the same hostin plan and settings. However, on this site I now get the error: CDO.Message.1 error '80040222' The pickup directory path is required and was not specified. /sendmail_cdo.asp, line 105 I have called the hosting company, but they're not willing to share the smtpserverpickupdirectory settings. Else I could have used the line: msg.Configuration.Fields.Item("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/smtpserverpickupdirectory") = "C:\intepub\mailroot\Pickup\"
