How to resolve in IIS server The message on the caught exception is rather misleading as it always seems to come back with that regardless of the true problem. Check exception.InnerException.InnerException.Message to get the true cause of the error. Provided it isn't rejecting the attempt due to an invalid e-mail address, it could be that you need to specify the SMTP server via the SmtpMail.SmtpServer property. Eric "Kamal"

It's quick & easy. SmtpMail.Send - Exception: "Could not access http://forum.mailenable.com/viewtopic.php?t=7942 'CDO.Message' object" P: n/a Jens Hi I am writing a ASP.NET web application that must sent some e-mails. I get the exception “Could not access 'CDO.Message' object” when I call SmtpMail.Send. This only happens when I send e-mail addresses out side my company walls. When cdo message the e-mail is send on some one in my company it works perfect. I think it is a relay issue. Our system administrator will not allow relaying. In the ASP.Net web.config file I let the web application impersonate a specific user that has a mail account on our mail server:

MailEnable Developers Could not access 'CDO.Message' object Post Reply Search Advanced search 1 post • Page 1 of 1 wijesijp Posts: 2 Joined: Sat Jul 09, 2005 5:35 am Could not access 'CDO.Message' object Quote Postby wijesijp » Sat Jul 09, 2005 6:06 am I use following code in ASP .Net to send email from my website. It was working fine in my computer. Code: Select alltry
{
MailMessage mailMessage = new MailMessage();
mailMessage.From = "wijesijp@hotmail.com";
mailMessage.To = "wijesijp@hotmail.com";
mailMessage.Subject = "Test";
mailMessage.BodyFormat = MailFormat.Html;
mailMessage.Body = "sucess";
mailMessage.Priority = MailPriority.Normal;
SmtpMail.Send(mailMessage);
lblMailMessage.Text = "Your email has been sent ...";
}
catch (Exception ex)
{
lblMailMessage.Text = ex.ToString();
}
Then I uploaded the files to the server. Which had MailEnable. The IIS SMTP virtual server was stopped in the server. Even though the code didn’t generate any errors, it didn’t send the mail as well. After searching through the Internet, I change my code to this.
try
{
MailMessage mailMessage = new MailMessage();
mailMessage.From = "wijesijp@hotmail.com";
mailMessage.To = "wijesena@gmail.com";
mailMessage.Subject = "Test";
mailMessage.BodyFormat = MailFormat.Html;
