You can check this by browsing to the following policy registry hive: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Citrix\(session#)\PrintingPolicies If you do not see the policies applied to the user, verify if the policy is applied to the correct user group. If the policy is still not applying, complete the following tasks: Open the C:\ProgramData\Citrix\Group Policy folder and delete all items in the Group Policy folder. Open a Command window and run the gpupdate /force command to add contents to the folder with the new Group Policy information from Active Directory and Citrix. Open the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Citrix folder, and remove all hives with a session number. This is a dynamic key and does not affect any existing sessions on the server. We have some apps that users use in our accounting department. The problem seems to be that their default local printer on their pc is not being set as the default printer in citrix when they launch the application using the xenapp client. For the most part, users are getting the same default printer, but some of them get changed. I have isolated the users to logon to one server but I don't know where to troubleshoot it. I have looked at citrix policies and windows policies but can't find anything that looks out of the ordinary. Other applications are working fine, it just seems to be this one. I have a similar issue with an application that is very old (VB6) and seems to be poorly developed. It doesn't even use windows spool/printing services, it has its own "magic" way to deal with printers. The result: a lot of citrix printing problems like the one you mentioned. To be honest we have learned to live with it, some things that helped: Make sure you have the right printer drivers installed in you xenapp servers,  configure your printing services to auto restart if they are stopped, and consult your app provider to see if they can help you out.
