is not available on the iClient if communication with that SCADA Server is lost. You can read or write data ifix error number -2147212502 to the active SCADA node. You can read data from the standby ifix connection manager SCADA node but you cannot write data to it. iFIX pictures, with links using a logical node name, always attempt ifix database manager connection not established to show data from the active SCADA regardless of whether it is the primary or secondary SCADA. This is done without requiring the picture to be opened, closed, or replaced. When
Networking Has Not Been Configured For This Node
an iClient establishes a connection to an active SCADA Server node, it starts to read data from that node. If the active SCADA Server node becomes unavailable, the iClient loses its session with that node, and causes a message box to appear with following message: Node.Tag.Field Connection Not Established With Node To disable this message, you can edit the FilteredErrors.ini file, which is located ifix client setup in the C:\Program Files\Proficy\Proficy iFIX\Local directory, to include error number 1914. Once you have edited this file, you must restart the Proficy iFIX WorkSpace for the change to take effect. When the iClient switches to a newly active SCADA node, the following events occur: The standby node becomes the active node, and the active node becomes the standby node. The links in the open pictures on the iClient display @ symbols (as the default) to indicate that the session with the previously active node has been temporarily lost. The pictures resolve automatically using the information from the newly active node. This ensures data integrity. The @ signs are replaced with process data from the newly active node. The node name referenced by these links does not change; it continues to display the name of the logical node. An event message indicating that a failover has occurred is sent to all alarm destinations configured for the iClient when failover occurs. NOTES: You can change the default @ signs using the Comm Error setting on the Animations Data Error Defaults tab in the User Preferences dialog box of the Proficy iFIX WorkSpace.

suppress this message from appearing on screen, edit the FilteredErrors.ini file, which is located in the C:\Program Files\Proficy\Proficy iFIX\Local directory. Add the 1914 error code to the FilteredErrors.ini file, as shown in the following example: ;To add an error code to be filtered http://help.geautomation.com/iFIX58/Subsystems/ENH/content/enf_reading_data_from_ifix_pictures_in_iclients.htm increment the count and set ;the Error equal to the return code [ErrorCodes] Count = 4 Error1 = 1620 Error2 = 1914 Error3 = 1915 Error4 = 8517 In this example, all typical network session errors are suppressed. After you edit the FILTEREDERRORS.INI file, restart the Proficy iFIX WorkSpace to ensure your changes take http://help.geautomation.com/iFIX58/Subsystems/ENH/content/enf_disabling_the_1914_error_message.htm effect. To suppress the 1914 message from appearing on screen: Open the FilteredErrors.ini file in a text editor, such as Notepad. The FilteredErrors.ini file is typically located in the C:\Program Files\Proficy\Proficy iFIX\Local directory. Add a line for your entry, as in the following example: ;To add an error code to be filtered increment the count and set ;the Error equal to the return code [ErrorCodes] Count = 4 Error1 = 1620 Error2 = 1914 Error3 = 1915 Error4 = 8517 Save the file. © 2014, General Electric Company. So far I cannot http://www.plctalk.net/qanda/archive/index.php/t-62607.html get it to communicate the the PCSERVER computer that contains the database builder and the ABR driver. All displays https://github.com/argon/node-apn/issues/373 are showing @ sign. When clicking on a screen to go to the server computer I am getting connection NOT established with node. When clicking on screen to one of the other computers on the setup I get networking has not been configured for this node. I changed the node name on this computer to not conflict with others on the network and added its name to the server. Added NETBIOS in the connection not networking setup. I am not familiar with NETBIOS and setup with that. Am hoping someone has some advice with networking. Does this seem to be Fix issue that I am missing something or networking setup within XP to talk to NT. I am going to change all three computers on network over to XP as soon as the other come in. Would it be better to change it to TCP configuration and just do all three at once or can this be done one at a time. Thanks for the help. connection not established Ned_FlandersApril 4th, 2011, 01:23 PMHi there, I am working on upgrading Fix32 computers that where originally setup on NT over to XP.
