them; it only takes a minute: Sign up Why am I receiving a java.net.SocketException: Connection reset error from web service through SOAP UI and Java client? up vote 6 down vote favorite 1 I am converting a visual foxpro application to a java web application and one small, but important piece of the application makes a soap request to connection reset by peer socket write error minecraft a web service. I have written 3 test clients to call this web service, and I have also tested through SOAP UI. Every one of my tests to this web service returns the error: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset. So I am obviously missing the same thing in every method of test, or doing the same thing wrong. I have the foxpro code, and I have successfully submitted the request via foxpro and received a valid response. But I don't have any experience with Foxpro, so I have been struggling with the difference between the code in foxpro that works and the new code I'm writing in java. I am hoping that someone with more experience with Soap and web services can see my code, maybe try it themselves, and help me understand what the problem is. I will provide the web service url as well as all my code. I will also provide the foxpro command line code that works. The foxpro code uses CreateObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"). I have learned through my research that this is also u

When large amount of data is sent through network TCP/IP packets take time to build up at receiver end. Thus socket timeout results before entire data is written to destination. As suggested by Peter please check if you can post same data using SOAP UI. If you cannot write same data using SOAP UI then there is a data limitation on the destination server. In case there are no errors during write using SOAP UI then code correction is required within SAP-PI server. This can be achieved applying the corresponding patch level or upgrade to a version that contains the fix.you mentioned note SAP note 1405895 is not applicable for PI 7.1.1 but when

This will help connection reset by you determine if the problem is in PI adapter (in that case you might need to upgrade SP) or the problem is in receiver socket ( which has limitation in size of data it can accept). Accordingly further steps can be taken.RegardsAnupam Alert Moderator Like (0) Re: SOAP: call failed: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset by peer: Aaron Myers Apr 17, 2013 4:45 PM (in response to BASKAR R) Currently Being Moderated Ask your SOAP receiver developers how much data (or timeout) they have set. As Udo mentions, it was them who broke your connection. By the way, I think PI defaults to 3 minutes for SOAP transactions, at least we found that on our system for sync messages...but you would get a different error if PI was timing out.
