Here are the Health screenshots: Agility WD HD Tune says that it could be caused by a damaged cable, but i have changed both http://www.overclock.net/t/706633/ultra-dma-crc-error-count cables. I have also moved them from ports 0+1 to 3+4. This has had no effect. Is this a sign of the SATA controller failing? The system has been working fine, except that games tend to crash for some reason (even though CPU and Ram stress tests are always stable). Any info about the situation would be appreciated. You could try and boot to the dos prompt and run CHKDSK to check your drives and let it repair any bad sectors if there are any before you load windows. The first thing I'd do is to reseat all of the drive cables. If the numbers continue to climb then I'd try using different cables. Edit: Ah, I see you've already done that. Given that it's happening in multiple drives it seems pretty unlikely to be a drive fault. But could still be some systemic problem such as an overtaxed power supply. Both of them are older then 2 years. Windows 7/64 located on Maxtor. Sometimes my system freeze and I decided to check both of HDD with HD Tune. And got next information. The Ultra DMA CRC Error Count shows on Maxtor value 200-200-2 (Current-Worst-Threshold) and colored with yellow (warning), Seagate - with value 200-200-1. Checking crc error the descriptions shows this: The number of errors in data transfer via the interface cable as determined by ICRC (Interface Cyclic Redundancy Check)..I have replaced my SATA cable with three another but nothing changed (on Windows 7/64). And the same situation is on another PC (win XP) with different interface cables. And visually my home system last time begin freezing too often. Even BSOD appeared with code F4 after complete dma crc error freeze. What is the problem?Does my HDD going to die? Or maybe the problem is with controller or something? Should I buy the new one HDD for stable (without freeze) work??Need expert advise. Thank you.
