Hard disk problems reported the hard disk was used in a different computer system without hard disk monitoring no significant problems reported: the hard disk is working as expected First hard disk checks Initially, the hard disk health reported is 100 %. The text description shows no problems with the hard disk but shows communications ultra dma crc error count fix problems: Problems occurred between the communication of the disk and the host 122 times. Hard disk cable and connection issues According the text description, numerous data transfer (communication) problems found. In most cases this is not really related to the hard disk, but related to the connections and/or data cables. For example loose SATA cable connections frequently cause this issue. It is recommended to verify both the power and the data cable connected to the hard drive. If you see the plugs do not fit properly, you should change the data cable to a different one, for example a SATA cable with a metal clip to fix the connection: The error counter counts all errors found during the lifetime of the hard disk. It means that the errors do not reset automatically after fixing or replacing the cables. So if things will be improved, the error-counter will not increase further (the current amount of errors remain reported). If the problems are corrected, it is possible to manually reset th

I'd recommend you to keep constant backups of the data stored on this WD Blue drive. This is the best way to avoid any data loss in the future. I'd also recommend testing it with WD's brand-specific diagnostics tool - Data LifeGuard. Make sure you run the QUICK and EXTENDED test from the utility and view the SMART results afterwards. Here's a link to it: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=JLzZvC Either way , I don't think you have to worry about anything just yet. I'd even suggest trying a different SATA cable and checking that it's properly connected to the HDD. This error is usually caused by a miscommunication between the drive and the southbridge (host), but unless the current value starts decreasing I don't think you should be panicking. However

(1 votes, average: 5.00 out of 5) What is a "Ultra ATA CRC Error Count (0xC7)"? The count of errors in data transfer via the interface cable as determined by ICRC (Interface Cyclic Redundancy Check). Acceptable values of the attribute "Ultra ATA CRC Error Count (0xC7)" may differ depending on the hard disk manufacturer – WD (Western Digital), Samsung, Seagate, HGST (Hitachi) or Toshiba. What should you do with "Ultra ATA CRC Error Count (0xC7)"? Stop using the faulty HDD; Restore deleted data from the disk; Scan the disk for bad sectors; Reduce the disk temperature; Run hard disk defragmentation; Buy a new hard disk; Stop Using The Faulty HDD If you receive a system message about an error diagnosed, it doesn’t mean the disk is out of order already. However, in case of a S.M.A.R.T. error, you should realize the disk is on the way to its breakdown. It can fail completely anytime – both within several minutes or in a month or even in a year. Anyway, it does mean you cannot trust to keep your data there. You should take some care about the safety of your data, make a backup copy or transfer files to another media. Along with these actions meant to save your data, you should also replace your hard disk. The disk where S.M.A.R.T. errors were found cannot be used – even if it doesn’t break down completely, it can still damage your data partially. Of course, a hard disk can fail even without showing any S.M.A.R.T. messages, but this technology gives you a certain advantage of warning you about the coming breakdown problem. Restore The Deleted Data From The Disk If there is a SMART error, restoring data from the disk is not always necessary. In case of an error, it is r
