As it's your hard disk I would suggest you run a programme called CHKDSK. Go to Start, Run and type CMD then click OK. When you get the DOS window open type CHKDSK C:/f (note the space after CHKDSK) and press the Enter key. You may get a message telling you that the disk cannot be locked and asking you if it can run at the next reboot. Choose Y and then reboot your PC.
