Data Error Cyclic Redundancy Check External Hard Drive Fix
ago So I visited the states this christmas and decided to pick up Fallout 3 for PC. The PC that im running is a Sony VGN-AR41L Vaio and it has http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/918428-fallout-3/49628198 a Intel Core Duo Processor. So when i got home yesterday i decided to try to install it. After 5 minutes of not moving an error message came to the screen that said: F\data2.cabCRC PROBLEM CYCLIC REDUNDANCY CHECK. The disc is brand new and im not sure what the problem is or how to fix it. Help is appreciated! zaku101Member Since: http://www.gamespot.com/forums/pc-mac-linux-society-1000004/fallout-3-intstallation-problem-26730894/ October 21, 2005Posts: 4580zaku101FollowForum Posts: 4580Followed by: 0Reviews: 2 Stacks: 0Forum Karma: 0#2 Posted by zaku101 (4580 posts) - 7 years, 9 months ago Copy everything from the disk into a folder, then run the setup/installation from the folder. If it fails to copy everything to the folder then the disk is bad. ways back when it was first released. It installed and played nicely on my Windows XP. A few months later, my computer crashed and I had it replaced. The same retail store replaced the computer with a newer model and Windows Vista. The http://www.gamesas.com/fallout-wont-install-windows-x64bit-t28723.html game installed nicely and played smoother. Then again, my computer crashed. Okay okay... So I didn't check for dust. My bad. Its almost like not checking the cars oil. Okay, so I have had that happen too. So lets get back to the point.... I purchased a new Duel Core 2 running Windows 7... and it just refuses to install... giving data2.cab error ... My Disk Is Not Scratched.Feature transfer errorComponent: Fallout 3File: E:\data2.cabError: Data error (cyclic redundancy check)Note: It is not just me.... all over the internet, data error people are complaining about this very same issue. There has to be a fix for it. IsAiah AkA figgy Posts: 3391Joined: Tue Oct 09, 2007 7:43 am » Wed Aug 04, 2010 1:59 am Try to install it in Safe Mode. Post back if this helps. If it doesn't work, the DVD-Rom may be faulty. You could try and install it in another data error cyclic computer. If it installs, then the drive is definitely bad, and it may be time to get a new one or swap drives. So I attempt to restore sound in safe mode... which failed.Note: Prior to asking for help, I remember someone saying why not just copy the disk to the computer... then install it that way. I attempted to copy the disk content in regular mode, yet it still did not detect the same data2... cant understand why when its right there on the disk?! Possible it was write protected? Unable to resolve or extract that one file, over different attempts.** BUT, Since I was in safe mode, and unable to install... I figured why not attempt to copy the disk contents in safe mode. And Guess What?!!!! It did it again.... 99% all the way through, missing 30 seconds from copying 149 f
