ORA-01157: cannot identify/lock data file 2 - see DBWR trace file ORA-01110: data file 2: 'D:\T1.DBF' My database instance could not be open.I searched internet and find some suggestion about using Backup to restore, but I don't have any. Hack to get your DB running here but this won't recover any of your lost data. –Michael McGriff Sep 6 at 19:29 1 Has the system been booted or is it still uup and running since deletion? if still up and running I See several ways to recover it from memory... gunnalag.com/2014/03/24/… or pythian.com/blog/… –xQbert Sep 6 at 19:31 I didn't have important information in db, and I manualy deleted one of dbf that was created for testing not primary oracle dbf. And now just want to work with db but it is not possible. TNS is running , when I enter to sqlplus as sysdba encounter with an idle instance that should be open, but I receive that error . –pari khodaparast Sep 7 at 3:38 add a comment| 3 Answers 3 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote As it appears you are on a Windows machine from the format of the file "D:\T1.DBF". If you deleted the file from Windows Explorer it should be in the Recyclebin where it can be restored and your database subsequently opened. If you deleted (dropped) the datafile from SQL then you are out of luck since you have stated you have no backups. share|improve this answer answered Sep 7 at 5:48 Gaz 213 Either you have a backup, the data fil

Today I'm going to describe another way to restore it data file while the database is not open: for some reasons your database crashed and while trying to start it up you are getting "ORA-01157: cannot identify/lock data file %s - see DBWR trace file". Let's simulate a loss of the EXAMPLE tablespace, in my case formed by only one datafile: [oracle@localhost ~]$ ll ora-01157 cannot identify/lock /home/oracle/app/oracle/oradata/orcl/example01* -rw-rw---- 1 oracle oracle 85991424 Nov 30 02:08 /home/oracle/app/oracle/oradata/orcl/example01.dbf [oracle@localhost orcl]$ rm example01.dbf The database is not open and if I try to execute startup command it signals ORA-01157 error. That error means instance was not able to open the example01.dbf (data)file.
