MQIINFO DB2 SQLSTATE 08001 BIP2322 Technote (troubleshooting) Problem(Abstract) When using IBM Integration Bus (IIB) or WebSphere Message Broker (WMB) for AIX , and a DB2 broker database, you see error BIP2322 when the first message arrives sqlstate=08001 db2 on a messageflow input queue. A number of other messageflows are already working normally in sql state ''08001'' the same integration server or execution group. No errors were seen on deployment. Resolving the problem When deploying message flows, the broker does not attempt to connect to the database immediately. This applies to external data sources (in Database, Compute and Filter nodes), NEON databases and also to Publication nodes, which require a database connection. As a result, the configuration appears http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21608477 to deploy correctly but causes errors to be reported once the messageflows start to receive messages. The error reported is BIP2322 from MQSI. The error message is as follows: BIP2322E: Database error: SQL State '08001'; Native Error Code -1224'; Error Text '[IBM][CLI Driver] SQL1224N A database agent could not be started to service a request, or was terminated as a result of a database system shutdown or a force command. This arises from a restriction on http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21006381 AIX when using a DB2 database. The default mode of connection does not allow more than 10 connections for each process. However, IIB and WMB run multiple threads so there might be more than 10 connections from a single broker process (integration server or execution group). The number of connections required is described in the readme.txt file, supplied with the product. You should connect to the database using TCP/IP, rather than connecting directly. This allows as many connections as are configured within DB2, up to machine resource limits: Configure DB2 to listen on a TCP port. Enter: db2 update dbm cfg using svcename
