using DbConv to create new database Technote (troubleshooting) Problem(Abstract) Administrator creates brand new (blank) DB2 database. Administrator logs onto the Controller application server, launches 'Controller Configuration' and creates a new database connection to com.ibm.db2.jcc.am.sqlsyntaxerrorexception: db2 sql error: sqlcode=-204, sqlstate=42704 the database. Administrator clicks 'connect' and then clicks 'Create DB'. An error appears. codes: SQLCODE=-204, SQLSTATE=-42704 In this scenario, there are several possible causes for the errors: Scenario #1 - DB2 database server is not using 'Oracle Compatibility Mode'. TIP: In this scenario, the error message will typically contain the word 'USER_TABLES' Scenario #2 - DB2 database client (installed on the Controller application server) has "Enable operating system security for DB2 objects" enabled. Scenario #3 - DB2 database has not been created correctly. Diagnosing sql0204n is an undefined name. sqlstate=42704 the problem IMPORTANT: It is vital that you check the exact 'SQLCODE' and 'SQLSTATE' error numbers, to help you troubleshoot the root cause. Make sure that you check the error code reference numbers precisely. If they are different, then search IBM Technotes for different/specific advice for your error code. Resolving the problem Scenario #1 Delete the database. Re-configure the DB2 database server to use 'Oracle Compatibility Mode'. Re-create the DB2 database. Re-try. For more information, see separate IBM Technote #1613531. Scenario #2 There are two different methods you can choose: (1) Uninstall DB2 client (from the Controller application server), and re-install DB2 client. During the installation wizard do NOT enable "Enable operating system security for DB2 objects" or (2) Add the group " Everyone" to the Windows security local group " DB2USERS" on the Controller application server For more information see separate IBM Technote #1504470 Scenario #3 Delete the 'bad' database, and recreate the DB2 database using the correct settings. uploading BLOB files(except .txt files) DB2 @ June 12, 2013Views:9 Hi, I've to upload files irrespective of file content type into database. So, I preferred BLOB type to store the files. I'm using Spring MVC and Hibernate to http://www.2uzhan.com/getting-sqlcode-302-sqlstate-22001-while-uploading-blob-files-except-txt-files/ upload BLOB files from user end to DB2. There is no issue, when I'm uploading file which is a text file. But when I upload other than Text files, I'm getting the SQLCODE=-302, SQLSTATE=22001 error. BLOB field length is 1MB. I'm getting the above mentioned error, even when I upload files(except text files) those have file size of very lesser than 1MB(ex:10KB). Please db2 sql help me to get rid of this issue. Thanks, Rajkumar. --------------Solutions------------- probably you are doing a regular insert.. with lob you have to use a different method for inserting long values look in infocenter - there are different topics on handling long objects Inserting large objects in PHP (PDO) - IBM Database Driver Hi Guy Przytula, I'm getting this error only when I'm trying db2 sql error upload files other than text files. How is it possible only to insert Text files? Is there special reason behind this? you have to be more specific.. what are you doing ? how is this being done ? we can not see your screen... We are using DB2 v9.7 in our project. We have to upload and download BLOB files into DB using java and hibernate. We are using JDBC driver for DB2 v9.7. But it fails in Uploading files into BLOB field(except Text file). We are getting the following error: DB2 SQL Error: SQLCODE=-302, SQLSTATE=22001, SQLERRMC=null, DRIVER=4.14.113 For uploading BLOB files, the following query is used by hibernate. insert into "db2DWH"."TIS_SRVY_DATA_RQST_ATTACHMENT" (ATTACHMENT_DESC, ATTACHMENT_FILE, ATTACHMENT_TYP, INS_TIMESATMP, INS_USR, UPD_TMS, UPD_USR, ATTACHMENT_NM, SRVY_DATA_RQST_ID) values (?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?) The above query inserts Text files without any exception, but it throws above mentioned error while inserting Binary Files such as .jpg, .bmp, .pdf, etc., Do we need to use any special query to insert Binary files? Behaviour of this BLOB seems like CLOB. Note: We are passing ATTACHMENT_FILE as java.sql.Blob object from Java. Entity side code ============
