I was able to back up all important files before it finally quit. I had a new drive installed by my local dealer, instead of doing it myself, as a result of which the second physical drive is named G:\ instead of D:\. I thought I could go with that, but it has caused troubles wherever pathnames are absolute rather than relative. One such case appears to be the pathname to the database backup directory. Specifically on trying to backup the database, now on the G:\ drive, from within Biblioscape (7.33) I get the following message: DBISAM ENGINE ERROR #11010 TABLE 'D:\..\..\..\..\backup\au_x.DAT does not exist'. I have tried looking through the various files to find a pathway to edit, but have been unsuccessful. Could you advise on how to redirect the Database Backup to its current location on the G:\ drive as there is no obvious way to change the pathname. Biblioscape simply copy the folders. It will take lots of disk space. With a zip utility, you can have a backup 5 times smaller in size. In fact, I have been using WinZip to compress the \backup directory rather than directly on the DB files. I shall do as you say in future, however, and Zip the files directly. I have one question though. I notice that bib.DBK and bib.IBK were not included in recent backups and in fact have not been upgraded since June of last year. Can I assume that these files are no longer being used, and delete them or at least not include them in any backup, as they are quite large and double the size of the backup?
