I recently upgraded to windows 8, and ever since then I haven't been able to run the game. Dead Space 2 works fine when I start it up. Part of me thinks that the problem is deeper then just the operating system however, simply due to the error message itself. Heres the computer I'm using- it deffinetly used to work before.Dell xps 8300i7 quad core 2600 cpu 3.4 ghz12gigs ramAMD Radeon HD 6770 GraphicsWindows 8 pro edition I don't think any other specs will be necisary for this issue. Thanks so much for the help, it seems like all the relevant information is coming up for DS2, which again works fine for me. I tried turning ATI stuff, still didn't help. And wouldn't restarting the computer solve that problem? And I still can't get the game to run. If you have this issue, when you start the game you'll likely get an Error popup with the following message: Could not initialize display hardware. http://www.thegameengine.org/dead-space/dead-space-initialize-display-hardware/ Please restart Dead Space This issue is often caused by having an unsupported resolution for your system/monitor configuration. There are a few possible solutions to this issue that http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/forum/threadview/2979150493901477737/ you can try below (ordered by success rate): Manually edit your resolution in settings.txt. The specific properties you want to edit are: Window.Height = 1080 Window.Width = 1920 dead space I would recommend you try a very small resolution to start e.g. Window.Height = 480 Window.Width = 640 Your settings.txt file will be located in: C:\Users\
