I can get to the laser so I can manually adjust it?Click to expand... Internet says that's cheaper to buy a new one cause all the things you need costs more then a PS2. If u don't have money then softmod your PS2 and play via Netowrk or USB/HDD. But theres a problem, I'm currently using a guide (http://www.tweak3d.net/joomla/tutorials/hardware-repair/playstation-2-repair_4) to clean things up. Now theres a problem, the PS2 I'm working on must have been a newer version then the one being shown in this guide because it does not http://www.gamespot.com/forums/pc-mac-linux-society-1000004/fixing-a-ps2-wth-disk-error-read-in-need-of-some-q-25493437/ seem to have a white gear within the disk tray area, and it doesn't have that pain in the back power lead (which is a good thing)I've looked on the internet and I can't seem to find any guide suited for this PS2, now if anyone could possibly help me out with a bit of information then that would be great. I'm at a limit on what I can do using those guides simply because it's a different version and I have no white gear in the Disk Tray. Thanks in advance! tantalus4Member Since: December 10, 2004Posts: 452tantalus4FollowForum Posts: 452Followed by: 0Reviews: 0 Stacks: 0Forum Karma: 0#2 Posted by tantalus4 (452 posts) - 9 years, 6 months ago get one of those cd lens cleaners SatanmarMember Since: December 29, 2003Posts: 1540SatanmarFollowForum Posts: 1540Followed by: 0Reviews: 28 Stacks: 0Forum Karma: 0#3 Posted by Satanmar (1540 posts) - 9 years, 6 months agoget one of those cd lens cleanerstantalus4 The lens as been cleaned! disc read error that sometimes happens to older PS2's. I've had good results, and so have many others. Let me know how it goes for you This guide will walk you through the https://mattread.com/ps2-disc-read-error-fix process of repairing a malfunctioning Playstation 2 or one that gives you Disc Read Errors (called "DRE" from here on). I have tested this process on two Playstation 2s now and it completely fixed the errors both were experiencing. The model # was SCPH-30001 on both units, but the process should be the same for others. You can read the entire article over at Tweek3D.net.
