I am trying to access an ASP page on the same server using Server.CreateObject("MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP"). On our previous 2003 server this worked correctly, however with

the new 2008 server the operation just times out. Here is the code: strURL = "http://www.storeboard.com/profile/profile_view.asp?MemberID=" & MemberID & "&sid=" & cSession.SessionID Set oXMLHttp = Server.CreateObject("MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP") oXMLHttp.open "GET", strURL, false oXMLHttp.send() IF oXMLHttp.status = 200 THEN strOut = oXMLHttp.responseText ELSE strOut = "Could not get XML data." END IF Set oXMLHttp = nothing The code is very simple but I get the following error: msxml3.dll error '80072ee2' The operation timed out /handle404.asp, line 291 Line 291 refers to oXMLHttp.Send() line. Is there an alternative code I can use? I use the script other places on the server that access files on other servers and they work correctly, but any access to files on our server doesn't work. Is there an alternative method that will allow me to keep the URL intact in the browser? The person could write the URL in their browser: http://www.example.com/hello the file doesn't exist but I have a 404 handler that then points the user to the correct path without changing the browser URL which is essential for our SEO ratings. asp-classic serverxmlhttp shar

I've http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5559722/msxml3-dll-error-80072ee2-in-asp-page written a small program outside of all my objects to try and find out what is going wrong and it has highlighted this... Problem 1 - GET vs POST If use oXMLHTTP.Open "POST" it returns a HTTP Error 405.0 - Method Not Allowed message, however, this works fine if I use oXMLHTTP.Open "GET". I've tried searching foran explanation to thisover the net https://forums.iis.net/t/1133648.aspx but have not found anything which explains why a GET works but not a POST. Problem 2 - msxml3.dll error '80072ee2' - The operation timed out When I run my application normally,I receive this error when trying to do aoXMLHTTP.Open "POST" My code works fine on my laptop running XP with IIS6, as well as the office and internet servers which run IIS6 and 2000. However, it does not work on my new machine which runs Vista Ultimate and IIS7. Somebody please help before I throw my Vista machine out of the window and onto the cars on the street below. MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP works fine on //localhost when trying hit any static file (.htm, .xml etc). When I try to hit a file with .asp extension, I get timeout errors. Anyone know how do I configure IIS7/Vista Security to allow MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP to communicate with .asp files on //localhost? I've tried Googling and searching Micro

That we started receiving the below error on accessing the .asp pages - msxml3.dllerror '80072ee2' The operation timed out /LM/W3SVC/1/ROOT/global.asa, line 66 Searched on internet for this error, but everyone is pointing to file opening error with set xmlhttp = server.CreateObject("MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP") , I tried creating a new .asp file with just - Hello World and even that is not working.
