Support Forums ‹ Amplifiers/ Pre-Amplifiers DLNA Post a reply 9 posts • Page 1 of 1 Search DLNA by krypto » Sat Apr 20, 2013 10:33 am Meh, let's edit this a bit. There appears to http://forums.onkyousa.com/viewtopic.php?p=6862&sid=8ef7057b78d24fa2c5db2f6b9ba1b3a8 be something wrong with how Onkyo receivers handle DLNA shares. If the DLNA share contents are changed, that share can't be accessed. The listed share takes a very long time to refresh so that http://www.tonido.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=227 the amp can connect to it again, sometimes they don't refresh at all. Removing the power cord/otherwise removing power completely from the amp, re-attaching it and browsing DLNA shares makes the shares accessible dlna error again.Tested amps:TX-NR414 (1130-8001-0000)TX-NR609 (1141-1600-0010-8106)TX-NR1010 (1060-4103-0100-00000)DLNA media server with the issue:Orb CasterOther DLNA client devices work fine with Orb and no other DLNA server software can handle the amount of music I have on my server. I'm forced to use the default WMP media server for now but even that sometimes fails to work with my Onkyo amps.EDIT: It seems that Onkyo amps only perform a DLNA server search dlna protocol error when accessing the DLNA server list for the first time after power has been hard-reset and it might do a re-scan after x hours. Will take a peek with Wireshark to see what's up when I got the time (need to hook PC or laptop between amp and LAN to catch all the traffic). Probably next weekend. Testing something called Plex since WMP can't handle flacs and it seems to be working for now. Would be better if Onkyo fixed their DLNA.Guessing why Onkyo fails sometimes to access and/or refresh the DLNA servers is that they have the same name and address. I'm switching operating systems from time to time and the DLNA server name remains the same (I have W7 & W8 on dualboot). Orb seems to recreate the server every time something is changed on the server or the system is rebooted. Every single time that happens, Onkyo amps' power need to be hard-reset for them to be able to connect to that Orb DLNA server. Seeing how Orb's DLNA server works on every single DLNA client device I have other than Onkyo amps (Samsung TV, Samsung BD player, tablets, game consoles), I'm guessing Onkyo has not implemen
Getting a Tonido Plug Media Server up with a PS3 client Support for your TonidoPlug Post Reply Print view Search Advanced search 13 posts 1 2 Next RajDotKapoor Guru Tonidoid Posts: 187 Joined: Mon Aug 24, 2009 5:37 pm Getting a Tonido Plug Media Server up with a PS3 client Quote Postby RajDotKapoor » Tue Aug 25, 2009 2:32 pm So I searched high and low but could not find any posts on media server setup issues. So here's one...Setup Details:- Tonido Plug connected to a 1.5TB Segate HDD.- PS3 with latest updates. - PS3 has been tested to play media content served by a Server PC on internal network. Media Server Software running in this case was ORB (Media Player as server works too).Media in the HDD is organized as follows:Media - - Home Videos - Music - Pictures - MoviesPlease see the Images attached for details on hierarchy and folder contents. Well I just realized there is no way for me to upload an image . Anyways to point out that I have multiple levels of hierarchy in the root folders before the media content can be found - to say the least it is organized .Another note: Movie files are ripped into .IFO and .VBO file formats, just the way they appear on a disk. There are some files that are .AVI format as well. Home Videos were digitized in mp4 format (I think, extension is mpg). Audio files are in .m4a encoded with Apple Lossless encryption. Pictures are in jpg format.I also made a minor tweak to the ushare.conf in /etc path. Changed the name of the share from TonidoServer to TonidoMediaServer. This should not really matter.I can see AND access the USB HDD and all its contents from my laptop with no issues. So now I setup the Media under TonidoAdmin, and provide path to the media content as follows:/media/usb0/Media/media/usb0/Media/Music/media/usb0/Media/Pictures/media/usb0/Media/Movies/media/usb0/Media/Home Videos [It does not accept this line because of the space between Home and Videos - QUESTION: How do I get the space to work? Other than renaming the Folder and removing the space]OK... so enough said about the se
