PC. After reading much and trying various solutions what worked for me was simply disabling and enabling the option of media server under network settings on the PS3. After doing this i now can watch video without the DLNA error 2006, thanks. On my PS3 it takes 30 seconds or more to list the files in a directory, and sometimes just times out with a DLNA 2006 error. I'll try your suggestion, but if I run PS3 Media server I don't have these issues, so it seems like it's a UMS problem not a PS3 problem. Anyway, when I had this problem I found another fix.Go into Network and Sharing center, go to change adapter settings (or whatever you have for adapter settings), open the router, properties, configure, find the advanced tab, go to speed, it should be set to auto, change it to 100 (I changed it to 100 full duplex, I have no idea what the full or half duplex is)And that's it, after I made that change everything loads in an instant now. Good luck.EDIT:OOOOK, it seems that routers come equipped with a bunch of other

It used to work, but no longer. Any ideas? 0 mfeingol Director of Engineering Posts: 5,057Members, Plex Employee, Plex Pass, Plex Ninja Plex Employee June 2012 Every time I've seen error 2006 on the PS3, it's the server not responding in time. You might look into Plex DLNA Server.log, see if there are any errors, https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/42684/ps3-protocol-error or if responses are taking a long time to get back. I've also found the PS3 gets into modes where it just doesn't want to talk to the DLNA server. Following instructions from the forum I moved my PS3 next to my wifi router (Linksys WRT54G) and plugged it in -- i.e. converted it to a wired connection. All the errors went away immediately, I can stream from my Linux box running PMS 0.9.6.3.143-4466fb5 on Ubuntu 12.04, which is connected to my router via wireless, flawlessly. Fast-forward and related controls don't work yet but browsing the media server and streaming work perfectly. If I can help anyone by providing logs or any further info, happy to do so. 0 Sign In or Register to comment. Howdy, Stranger! It looks like you're new here. When I originally set up my PS3, I could stream videos, music, photos, etc from my PC to my PS3. For some reason, I am now getting the "DLNA Protocol error 2006" when I try to dlna protocol error connect to my media server. It doesn't even detect the media server right now. I do have internet access though...that's not an issue. I am running Windows XP and using Windows Media Player 11. I have googled this topic several times, but I'm finding that I'm led all over the place...some of the info is a couple years old...It's just not working out. I can't pinpoint the exact time that this started, but the only two major things that have happened to my pc around that time are I installed Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 and I had a prolonged power outage where my internet required being set up again by the provider. Any suggestions? Thanks! Long may your big jib draw, me ol' cocky! Reply With Quote 02-03-2010,07:31 PM #2 SaskNewfie View Profile View Forum Posts View Blog Entries View Articles Stunned as me arse!
