I thought that, rather than trying to answer these questions individually, I'd try to write an FAQ covering the playstation dlna error things I've found, and the problems I or others have encountered, and the solutions. I'm not a member of WD staff. I'm not a MyCloud, Twonky or Linux expert (but I'm moderately dlna protocol error 2101 competent). But I am stubborn, and determined to find out how to make the thing work the way I want it to. If more expert users find fault in this FAQ, or have other insights to offer, then feel free to post comments. I'll edit this first post and make corrections and add any FAQ&A that are added. I'll enclose it in [brackets]. Feel free to investigate and confirm or disprove my observations... Where I mention control settings, I use a | to indicate a level of hierarchy in the menu system. This is to distinguish control settings and file system paths. Ideally, we'd shame WD into doing a better job of integrating Twonky into the MyCloud, so it's not such a struggle, and doesn't require Linux administrator-level skills to make it work properly. Note: I have no experience using either DLNA or an ITunes server. I have a 2TB USB3.0 drive connected to my R7000.My computers are able to see the drive https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-WiFi-Routers/Thoroughly-confused-with-DLNA-ReadyShare/td-p/513688 by going to //readyshare. Anyway I copied several folders directly from my itunes library to the drive connected to the R7000. My idea was to test whether or not I could stream he music to my Pioneer receiver. If it was successful I planned on putting several thousand songs on the drive. So I was able to connect to the readyshare drive using my Pioneer. However, I was unable to see any of the files or directories that I had copied to it. Instead, the Pioneer showed a bunch of empty folders, such as "Music", "Artist", "Genre" etc. If I remember correctly it also had a similar directory structure for movies. The interesting part was that if I used my laptop to go and look at the readyshare drive, the only directories on it were the two music directories I had copied to it from my iTunes media library. In the routers settings, I had DLNA checked, as well as TiVo (these were the defaults); the iTunes server was unchecked, as I was not certain my receiver could act as a client for an iTunes server (but I knew for a fact that it was able to act as a DLNA client). So could someone please give me explicit instructions on how to set this up? Do I have to manually create a directory structure? Or does the DLNA server just scan files and directories and then use that information to populate the

OK, since bits dlna protocol of info get burried in a huge FW1.80 thread, I decided to make a new thread where I will update the first post regularly with new info. So, short notes first.DLNA is an industry standard for media (audio, video, photo) sharing within concept of a digital home and is supported by many hardware and software manufacturers. As of FW1.80, dlna protocol error DLNA is supported by Playstation 3 entertainment system. PS3 takes a role of DLNA Player, not DLNA server, so it can play a content of any DLNA server (source) in you digital home, but can not stream the content to other server within DLNA protocols. (Remote connect to PSP is using proprietary protocols)What it means is that you have to have a DLNA server installed, either hardware (like some HDD storages, DVRs or set-top boxes) or as a software on your PC.The latter is most interesting for majority of us, since DLNA certified CE equipment is not that widespread yet.Your options for the software naturally depends on your operating system. DLNA is an open protocol based on UPnP (Universal PnP) and therefore can work on any operating system. So far we found a reasonably good solution only for Windows OSes, so I'll start with it.WindowsWMP11If you are running Windows Vista you have a very simple way to enable the sharing through Windows Media Player 11. Disable Disable connection to devices that support DLNA. About DLNA DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) is a standard that enables digital devices such as personal computers, digital video recorders, and TVs to be connected on a network and to share data that is on other connected, DLNA-compatible devices. DLNA-compatible devices serve two different functions. "Servers" distribute media such as image, music, or video files, and "clients" receive and play the media. Some devices perform both functions. Using a PS3™ system as a client, you can display images, or play music or video files that are stored on a device with DLNA Media Server functionality over a network.
