stuff from my PC. I use XP with WMP 11, and my PS3 connected via a linksys router. It used to be fine, but now for some reason whenever I try to connect I get a DLNA 2006 protocol error. If anyone has any tips for getting round this, it'd be much appreciated. http://community.us.playstation.com/t5/PlayStation-3/DLNA-protocol-error-2006/td-p/16466837 mallet, Mar 13, 2008 Mar 13, 2008 at 11:53 PM Jay, Mar 13, 2008 #2 Jay Banned Joined: Jun 25, 2006 Messages: 17,392 Products Owned: 0 Products Wanted: 0 Trophy Points: 166 Location: on the battlefield.... I put this down to streaming from an external hardrive that is connected to my PC. I've more or less given up on both the PS3 and 360 as a media streamer. The best option I've found is to copy the file over to the HDD and play it locally. Think I'll go down the HDD upgrade route but that's a bit of a mess around really. "But our trip was different. It was a classic affirmation of everything right and true and decent in the national character. It was a gross physical
First, there is occasional freeze up for both Hulu and Netflix. My computer meets all min. requirements (1 GB RAM, 1.8 Ghz P4 and >80 GB HD space with 4 MB/Sec download speed from my ISP), though PlayOn gives my processor speed a yellow https://www.playon.tv/node/57581 rather than green (min is 1.5 Ghz and I have 1.8 Ghz. changing to medium quality doesn't seem to help). Aside from the freeze up, I also get a DNLA (2006) connection error on the PS3 and it will disconnect from PlayOn http://playonplugins.com/index.php?topic=3606.0 for a number of minutes (it will eventually reconnect). Any insight would be greatly apprciated. Thanks! Try that. reply Processors are a liitle slow Permalink Submitted by schneid on Wed, 12/10/2008 - 09:29 A P4 needs to be 3-3.2 ghz to pull off HD and the video card probably needs to be one that is "HDCP" compliant. Cyberlink's free BD Advisor is a great benchmark test. reply PS3 seems to work fine with Hulu and Netflix directly Permalink Submitted by antiquejewel on Sun, 12/28/2008 - 23:47 dlna protocol error The browser must've gotten an update, hence, if you experience problems with streaming videos using Play On then go directly to PS3 browser page, type in Netfix or Hulu's web address, log in and you are back in business. Worked like a charm for me while kept on freezing and giving me a yellow light for the connection bandwidth through Play on. reply Re: PS3 seems to work fine with Hulu and Netflix directly Permalink Submitted by admin on Mon, 12/29/2008 - 01:39 As far as we know, it's impossible to view movies through the PS3 browser at www.netflix.com. The embedded browser in the PLAYSTATION is unable to play Netflix content, and we have no expectations that this will work anytime in the future on the PS3. We have tried www.hulu.com a number of times in the PS3 browser (firmware 2.53, from December 2, 2008), and have had limited success, both with playback and trying to view full screen. Are you seeing otherwise? reply DNLA Errors Permalink Submitted by MiniSvlad on Tue, 12/30/2008 - 06:38 I was getting DNLA errors all the time because of my Linksys wireless router. It was having all kinds of issues. Then I found a blog posting about port-forwarding and everything has been working fine since. Here is a website with the info that I used. Just remember that the IP Address that they are forwarding to is the IP Address of your PS3 PS3 and Linksys WRT54G Solution This has worked wonders for me with Play
