guys! has anyone got this error "A DLNA protocol error (2114) has occurred" when connecting PS3 to a media server using storage devices? i would like to hear it from you if you got any resolutions about this. I tried to search this error in the Internet and i was not able to get any work around to fix this problem. I already enabled the UPnP AV playstation 3 dlna protocol error Server of the storage Enclosure and also on the router but still no good. I would love to hear suggestions from you guys.. Thanks... This error occurs over wire
- Error ‘A DLNA protocol error (2104) has occurred' When streaming from Windows Media Player Home » General » Playstation 3 - Error ps3 dlna protocol error 2104 ‘A DLNA protocol error (2104) has occurred' When streaming from Windows dlna protocol error 2114 Media Player KB ID 0000696 Dtd 12/10/12 Problem My Windows 7 Media Center can't stream to my dlna protocol error 501 PS3, but the Windows Media Player that's built into the same PC can, (well it should be able to!) However when I tried, this is what the Playstation http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=2858.0 told me. Media Server Error: A DNLA protocol error (2104) has occurred. Solution Note: Your local firewall on the Windows 7 machine can also cause this problem. I have a decent firewall at home, so I disabled the local firewall on the Media Center, (Start > Run > firewall.cpl). 1. On your Windows 7 Machine open http://www.petenetlive.com/KB/Article/0000696 Windows Explorer (Windows Key+E) > Select Homegroup > View homegroup settings. 2. Make sure you're set to location type Home, if not change it (mine was set to public!). 3. Now "choose what you want to share…". 4. Select as appropriate > Next. 5. Choose Media Streaming options. 6. Allow All, (or if you know the MAC address of the Playstation it will be listed as "Unknown Device" and, (if you can see it on the list), you can add that in on it's own, and allow). 7. Accept the warning. 8. If you allowed all, this is what you should see. 9. Finally open the services (Start > Windows key+R > services.msc {enter}) and ensure that the "Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service" Service is started > Set to Automatic > and set to logon as either the Network Service, or the Local System. I have managed to find the media server on my PS3 and am able to browse the music/video files. But it won't let me play anything. When i try to play music, it shows the purple screen (as if its trying to play it) but after a while i get an error saying: "Media Server Error: A network error has occurred. (8001000B)" When i try playing dlna protocol error videos i just get a blank screen. Can anyone suggest anything?? I just want to stream from my NAS - NOT the PC (for obvious reason). I cannot open my NAS because of DLNA protocol 2114 failure?!?!?! Is there a way to fix this and why is this problem occuring? I know that I might not be able to open all files from my NAS, because of unsupported data. And all this Media Streaming software cannot be used on a NAS???
