Comment Filed Under: Gaming Tagged: ps3 A friend of mine purchased a PlayStation 3 and connected it to his wireless Linksys router. Whenever he downloaded updates to games, it would start the download then freeze at dlna protocol error 2101 fix about 32 percent. At other times it would throw an error saying DNLA Protocol dlna protocol error 2101 ps3 Error 2101. We could access the PlayStation Store without a problem though. After connecting the PS3 directly to the cable modem,

the PS3 worked fine. So we then knew the problem had to be with the Linksys router configuration. After checking out the router settings, we figured out that UPnP was enabled. The UPnP feature is

supposed to automatically grant permission to devices to access needed network resources. It doesn't always play well with certain devices though. So we disabled UPnP with these steps: Login to the Linksys router's admin panel. You can usually get there by opening a web browser and going to "http://192.168.1.1" (usually this is the IP address used, but it may be different depending on your configuration) in a web browser. Go to dlna protocol error 2104 "Connectivity" in the left pane. Click the "Administration" tab. Uncheck "UPnP" to disable it. Select "OK", and you're done. If you have a router from a different brand, check the user guide for information on how to disable this feature. full version with proper formatting. stopes10-30-2012, 01:16 AM Hi, I recently purchased a Thecus N5550 and I am delighted with it so far apart from one niggling http://forum.thecus.com/archive/index.php?thread-4751.html issue. I am unable to play media stored on my NAS via my Playstation 3 or XBox 360. Taking the PS3 first (fixing this may fix the XBox issue) Steps to replicate: 1 - Open Twonky (TMS) on PS3 2 - Select an MP4 file via Videos > By Folder Results Depending on the file the video will play for 30 seconds (sometimes less) always stopping around the same point with the following dlna protocol messages (always #1, usually #2 and variations on #3 - #5): 1 - DLNA 2101 Protocol Error 2 - PS3 System has been disconnected from the media server 3 - Network Error 80710091 4 - Network Error 8071503D 5 - Network Error 80700004 Network Infrastructure 1 - Thecus N5550 (firmware 2.03.06.atom) running Twonky Media Server (Twonky 7.0.8 Special) 2 - PS3 (firmware 4.30) 3 - Netgear (firmware V2.1.00.54_1.00.54) 4 - TP Link Powerline TLPA211 dlna protocol error (I am using these for all connections, no wireless connections) Other information / things I have tried 1 - UPnP is currently enabled on the router, the NAS and the PS3, but have tried every combination of enabled and disabled with no success 2 - I have tried connecting the PS3 and the NAS to each other on the same hub, no change 3 - I have uninstalled and reinstalled Twonky 4 - I can see all the media files, and they all play perfectly for 30s until the errors 5 - I have used ACL's on the shared folder and removed them, both with the same results 6 - I have tried to find something (anything) that describes my issues on all the forums and Google - no real joy at all I am unable to play files on the XBox either, although the error messages I get there are even less helpful. I figure if I sort out the PS3 the XBox will take care of itself. I can't help thinking it is something to do with the network, and I am wiring up soon for 1GB network, but I am concerned this problem will continue post my network upgrade. If anyone out there can help me at all I would be very grateful. I am a rela
