I stream video to my PS3, Samsung Blue ray player and Samsung TV. I've never had an issue with watching anything I've added to my library. I've had to add a switch to my setup because I've finally ran out of hard wire ports for https://forum.synology.com/enu/viewtopic.php?t=78431 my devices. Since I've added the switch (Cisco SD2008) suddenly I cannot stream anything through DLNA. My PS3 gives an error message of "Media Server Error: A DLNA protocol error (501) has occurred" and when I go into my AllShare program on my Samsung no videos are found. But the weird thing is is that Plex Media Server runs just fine. Plex doesn't play a lot of my videos and it's not the most friendly or fast program to use so I'm really stuck in a hard place here. I'm really hoping someone can give me advice to fix this problem. I would greatly appreciate any help resolving this issue. Get all Cat 6 cables so running at Gigabit. ensure NAS and Switch have Static IPs. This seemed to make everything happy once again and worked.Incidently, I agree with your view on Plex, I wondered what else are you using to stream movies to tv / bluray? As yet my PS4 does not support DLNA so a b

As it stands I get an Media Server Error: DLNA Protocol Error 501 has occurred on the PS3 and it tells me that access to the media server has not been allowed when I try to access the MSS.When I try to connect to the MCE2005 PC I get told the system name has not been registered.I dlna protocol error do have my MSS Guest user account disabled if that makes any difference on the WHS side of things?Talking of Guest account - what else may be affected by this account being disabled? Thanks & regards,-=Glyn=- Top Attention Guest: Remove this ad by Registering with the MediaSmartServer.net Forums. There is no network user on a PS3 (sony user name is for completely different purposes). Also on your server go to Settings -> Media Sharing and make sure that's enabled for all 3 media types. _________________ Click on Thank Post if I've been helpful!
