I have not found ANY response from sony to help. Yet this is an issue with every ps3 I have EVER used. Sony has shown how little they care. Just try and find a response for any of these DLNA issues. Yes this is a sony issue, as it happens on windows xp, vista, 7, also linux ubuntu 10 & 11.Good luck, I hope you find a fix.*seems the dissable UPnP does not work.**dissabling the windows firewall did not help either* Report Message 4 of 19 (94,192 Views) 0 Likes Mr_MojjoRisin First Son Registered: 02/19/2012 Offline 1 posts 02-18-2012 04:31 PM User Info Mr_MojjoRisin ADD AS A FRIEND Re: HELP!! - Error ‘A DLNA protocol error (2104) has occurred' When streaming from Windows Media Player Home » General » Playstation 3 - Error http://www.petenetlive.com/KB/Article/0000696 ‘A DLNA protocol error (2104) has occurred' When streaming from Windows https://forum.qnap.com/viewtopic.php?t=4948 Media Player KB ID 0000696 Dtd 12/10/12 Problem My Windows 7 Media Center can't stream to my PS3, but the Windows Media Player that's built into the same PC can, (well it should be able to!) However when I tried, this is what the Playstation dlna protocol told me. Media Server Error: A DNLA protocol error (2104) has occurred. Solution Note: Your local firewall on the Windows 7 machine can also cause this problem. I have a decent firewall at home, so I disabled the local firewall on the Media Center, (Start > Run > firewall.cpl). 1. On your Windows 7 Machine open dlna protocol error Windows Explorer (Windows Key+E) > Select Homegroup > View homegroup settings. 2. Make sure you're set to location type Home, if not change it (mine was set to public!). 3. Now "choose what you want to share…". 4. Select as appropriate > Next. 5. Choose Media Streaming options. 6. Allow All, (or if you know the MAC address of the Playstation it will be listed as "Unknown Device" and, (if you can see it on the list), you can add that in on it's own, and allow). 7. Accept the warning. 8. If you allowed all, this is what you should see. 9. Finally open the services (Start > Windows key+R > services.msc {enter}) and ensure that the "Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service" Service is started > Set to Automatic > and set to logon as either the Network Service, or the Local System. But with latest PS3-fw and latest offical fw for QNAP (TS-109) there are significant many more errors shown (f.e. DLNA 2106...). I recogniced some network connection loss ,too, with the current PS3/QNAP-fw configuration. This was never been before the case.I guess this happens because of UPNP-network-delays.greetings TS-119 // 3.3.8 build 1217T TS-209Pro2 // 3.3.0 build 0924TWindows 7 Professional 64 Bit // GermanTS-109: no RAID, Western Digital WD7500AYYSTS-209Pro2: RAID 1, 2x WD7500AACS (Green Power)Services: Webfile-Manager, Multimedia Station, UPnP, Download Station, QPKG on TS119: WordPress, XDoveexternal devices: sometimes diffrently USB-SticksNAS connections: 1Gbit/s, Jumbo Frames 9000 Top Doozer Getting the hang of things Posts: 55 Joined: Fri Apr 04, 2008 7:53 pm Model: TS-x51/x51+/451S Re: DLNA Protocol Error (2101) on PS3 Quote Postby Doozer » Sun May 04, 2008 2:50 am Is this something that can be fixed?
