You may get a DLNA error message: DLNA Protocol Error 7531. Solution: First, make sure that all your connections are working http://support.wdc.com/KnowledgeBase/answer.aspx?ID=3562 correctly. Then navigate to the PS3's Media Server: Settings -> Network Settings -> Media Server Connection. Disable the Media Server Connection, back out of the menu, then go back to the Media Server Connection and Enable it again. This should fix the issue. However, you may need to restart your DNLA service as well. For more information, please visit http://community.eu.playstation.com/playstationeu/board/message?board.id=147&message.id=22968. I loaded my media files to it and enabled dlna.It worked like a champ for a day or so, but now when I turn on my PS3, I instantly get "DLNA error (7531)" message on my ps3. I can see the Synology NAS, but when I click on it on the PS3, it says there are no files. If I go dlna protocol error into the Web menu for the NAS, and restart the DLNA server, then it works. But I don't want to have to do this every time (would be a hassle, and does not pass the easy-to-use for the wife and kids test).UPNP is enabled on my router (Netgear WNR3500L), and the PS3 and NAS are connected to it via a Trendnet Gigabit switch. The PS3 and NAS are running on DHCP. The PS3 is connected via a pair of Netgear Wireless N bridge/access points. I've got the latest version of 2.3 running, and I've got all the ports they have listed forwarded on my router. If I try to stream from my PC or Mac, then I don't get an error. So the issue lies with the NAS.Any one else experienced this error? Synology is looking into it, but I'm wondering if anyone else has run into this? How can I keep this error from happening every time? Streaming to my PS3 and other devices was the main reason I bought the NAS.Thanks! Toys Video, Computer & Internet Games PlayStation 3 How to Fix a DLNA Error on the PlayStation 3 How to Fix a DLNA Error on the PlayStation 3 By Johnny Kampis eHow Contributor Johnny Kampis Follow Pin Share Tweet Share Email Save The Digital Living Network Alliance, or DLNA, allows your PlayStation 3 to connect to a network to share data. This lets you play video files and music from other devices with DLNA functionality on the network, such as your computer. If you have problems connecting to the PlayStation Network while DLNA is enabled on your PlayStation 3, you can try some troubleshooting steps to fix the error. Examine the network cables to ensure that the device you use as your DLNA media server is properly connected to the router. Check the signal of your router by accessing your router software. Your wireless signal should broadcast on the 802.11b or 802.11g network. Reboot your DLNA media server device, and disconnect your modem and router. Wait a few moments and reconnect these devices to restart them. Disable DLNA on your PlayStation 3 if the first three steps do not solve your problem. Enter "Settings," followed by "Network Settings" at the home menu. Press the "X" button on your controller. Enter the option for "Media Server Connection" and press "X" again. Highlight the "Disable" option and press "X" to end DLNA file sharing.
