I have not found ANY response from sony to help. Yet this is an issue with every ps3 I have EVER used. Sony has shown how little they care. Just try and find a response for any of these DLNA issues. Yes this is a sony issue, as it happens on windows xp, vista, 7, also linux ubuntu 10 & 11.Good luck, I hope you find a fix.*seems the dissable UPnP does not work.**dissabling the windows firewall did not help either* Report Message 4 of 19 (94,310 Views) 0 Likes Mr_MojjoRisin First Son Registered: 02/19/2012 Offline 1 posts 02-18-2012 04:31

I received the DLNA error 2006 when accessing video from my PC. After reading much and trying various solutions what worked for me was dlna protocol simply disabling and enabling the option of media server under network settings on the PS3. After doing this i now can watch video without the DLNA error 2006, thanks. On my PS3 it takes 30 seconds or more dlna protocol error to list the files in a directory, and sometimes just times out with a DLNA 2006 error. I'll try your suggestion, but if I run PS3 Media server I don't have these issues, so it seems like it's a UMS problem not a PS3 problem. Anyway, when I had this problem I found another fix.Go into Network and Sharing center, go to change adapter settings (or whatever you have for adapter settings), open the router, properties, configure, find the advanced tab, go to speed, it should be set to auto, change it to 100 (I changed it to 100 full duplex, I have no idea what the full or half duplex is)And that's it, after I made that change everything loads in an instant now. Good luck.EDIT:OOOOK, it seems that routers come equipped with a bunch of other options that will also slow down your connection speed. Weird. So in the same area I disabled "green ethernet" "energy efficient" and "flow control." The first 2 for sure have speed impacts, the 3d I'm not sure about, b

Plex on PS3 DLNA Protocol Error 501 katz.s Posts: 4Members August 2012 in DLNA I had high hopes for this software when I found out about it. The server is exactly what I was looking for! Unfortunately, I'm running the client from a PS3 and of course I get the 501 error when trying to use the video portion. Music works OK. My frustration is that there is already a thread about this issue, but the problem never seems to be addressed, at least what I've been able to find. I've already tried deleting the bundle directories and the same error appears. Any help or new advice about getting this error resolved would be greatly appreciated. BTW, I'm at the latest version available. Thanks in advance. 0 «12» Go Comments Trudge Gone off to greener pastures.... HI, If you do a google search for DLNA 501 PS3 you'll see that error 501 seems to be Sony's "catch all" error for DLNA so its not caused by 1 thing, but any number of things that Sony are yet to define specific error codes for. This is also why is keeps coming up and never appears to be fixed, as there is no 1 fix for it and what does fix it for some, doesn't for others. It also happens on any DLNA server, not just the Plex one which means there are plenty of fixes for you to try out there on the big wide internet. I would suggest doing that google search and trying the fixes that have worked for others, which seem to range from; - updating your PS3 firmware - rebooting your PS3 - letting your PS3 just sit for a while before trying to connect - using only a single nic in your PC if
