I have not found ANY response from sony to help. Yet this is an issue with every ps3 I have EVER used. Sony has shown how little they care. Just try and find a response for any of these DLNA issues. Yes this is a sony issue, as it happens on windows xp, vista, 7, also linux ubuntu 10 & 11.Good luck, I hope you find a fix.*seems the dissable UPnP does not work.**dissabling the windows firewall did not help either* Report Message 4 of 19 (94,378 Views) 0 Likes Mr_MojjoRisin First Son Registered: 02/19/2012 Offline 1 posts 02-18-2012 04:31 PM User Info Mr_MojjoRisin ADD AS A FRIEND R
Comment Filed Under: Gaming Tagged: ps3 A friend of mine purchased a PlayStation 3 and connected it to his wireless Linksys router. Whenever he downloaded updates to games, it would start the download then freeze http://www.technipages.com/ps3-dlna-protocol-error-2101-fix at about 32 percent. At other times it would throw an error saying DNLA Protocol Error 2101. We could access the PlayStation Store without a problem though. After connecting the PS3 directly to the http://www.gamespot.com/forums/playstation-nation-1000002/media-server-dlna-501-error-26331647/ cable modem, the PS3 worked fine. So we then knew the problem had to be with the Linksys router configuration. After checking out the router settings, we figured out that UPnP was enabled. The dlna protocol UPnP feature is supposed to automatically grant permission to devices to access needed network resources. It doesn't always play well with certain devices though. So we disabled UPnP with these steps: Login to the Linksys router's admin panel. You can usually get there by opening a web browser and going to "http://192.168.1.1" (usually this is the IP address used, but it may be different depending on your configuration) in dlna protocol error a web browser. Go to "Connectivity" in the left pane. Click the "Administration" tab. Uncheck "UPnP" to disable it. Select "OK", and you're done. If you have a router from a different brand, check the user guide for information on how to disable this feature.
