PS3 connecting to media server « Reply #1 on: November 10, 2008, 08:30:14 PM » Hi 'christine',Have a look at this thread:http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=ps3media&message.id=130814The post eludes to a few things:- WiFi connectivity issue; does the error occur when the PS3 is accessing the DNS via Ethernet?- UPnP contention; does the error occur when the PS3 UPnP is disabled?- UPnP folder selection; doe the error occur if you specify a specific folder instead of the root on the DNS?I suspect it may be the 3rd point; try setting a specific folder on the DNS-323 instead of the ROOT in the UPnP section.Keep us posted, Logged christine Level 1 Member Posts: 9 Re: A DLNA protocol error (2114) has occurred in PS3 connecting to media server « Reply #2 on: November 10, 2008, 11:33:31 PM » ok cool! thanks! ! and also do you think its the firmware of PS3 that causes this problem? games, it would start the download then freeze at about 32 percent. At other times it would throw an error saying DNLA Protocol Error 2101. We could access the PlayStation Store without a problem though. After connecting the PS3 directly to the cable modem, the PS3 worked fine. So we then knew the problem had to be with the Linksys http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=2858.0 router configuration. After checking out the router settings, we figured out that UPnP was enabled. The UPnP feature is supposed to automatically grant permission to devices to access needed network resources. It doesn't always play well with certain devices though. So we disabled UPnP with these steps: Login to the Linksys router's admin panel. You can usually get there by opening http://www.technipages.com/ps3-dlna-protocol-error-2101-fix a web browser and going to "http://192.168.1.1" (usually this is the IP address used, but it may be different depending on your configuration) in a web browser. Go to "Connectivity" in the left pane. Click the "Administration" tab. Uncheck "UPnP" to disable it. Select "OK", and you're done. If you have a router from a different brand, check the user guide for information on how to disable this feature.
