Whenever he downloaded updates to games, it would start the dlna protocol error 501 download then freeze at about 32 percent. At other times it would throw an dlna protocol error 2104 error saying DNLA Protocol Error 2101. We could access the PlayStation Store without a problem though. Go to "Connectivity" in the left pane. Click the "Administration" tab. Uncheck "UPnP" to disable it. Select "OK", and you're done. If you have a router from a different brand, check the user guide for information on how to disable this feature. I received the DLNA error 2006 when accessing video from my PC. After reading much and trying various solutions what worked for me was simply disabling and enabling the option dlna protocol of media server under network settings on the PS3. After doing this i now can watch video without the DLNA error 2006, thanks. On my PS3 it takes 30 seconds or more to list the files in a directory, and sometimes just dlna protocol error times out with a DLNA 2006 error. I'll try your suggestion, but if I run PS3 Media server I don't have these issues, so it seems like it's a UMS problem not a PS3 problem. Anyway, when I had this problem I found another fix.Go into Network and Sharing center, go to change adapter settings (or whatever you have for adapter settings), open the router, properties, configure, find the advanced tab, go to speed, it should be set to auto, change it to 100 (I changed it to 100 full duplex, I have no idea what the full or half duplex is)And that's it, after I made that change everything loads in an instant now. Good luck.EDIT:OOOOK, it seems that routers come equipped with a bunch of other options that will also slow down your connection speed. Weird. So in the same area I disabled "green ethernet" "energy efficient" and "flow control." The first 2 for sure have speed impacts, the 3d I'm not sure about, but It hasn't hurt. Just wanted to let people know.BTW after doing this change shuttering on 1080p for me h

I just bought my PS3 over the weekend, and ever since I hooked it up, I keep getting this error message:Media Server Error: DLNA Protocol Error (501) has occurredFrom what I've gathered by googling the error message, it would appear that this is something related to Windows Media Center, but I haven't even used Media Center with the PS3 yet. Also, when doing an Internet Connection test on my PS3, it says "UPnP: Failed" (even though I've set UPnP to "enable"), and my NAT type keeps saying 3 when I believe I want it at 2.Any ideas or suggestions? professorabsMember Since: March 24, 2008Posts: 25professorabsFollowForum Posts: 25Followed by: 0Reviews: 0 Stacks: 0Forum Karma: 0#2 Posted by professorabs (25 posts) - 8 years, 7 months agoI just read your posting...I just hooked up my PS3 and keep getting the same damn error message...did you ever resolve it??Thanks!!! big_boss4lifeMember Since: December 4, 2006Posts: 2633big_boss4lifeFollowForum Posts: 2633Followed by: 0Reviews: 1 Stacks: 0Forum Karma: 0#3 Posted by big_boss4life (2633 posts) - 8 years, 7 months agohooked it up how?ethernet cable? or wireless`? professorabsMember Since: March 24, 2008Posts: 25professorabsFollowForum Posts: 25Followed by: 0Reviews: 0 Stacks: 0Forum Karma: 0#4 Posted by professorabs (25 posts) - 8 years, 7 months agoI'm hooked up via Linksys wireless.....music woks fine (for now)......no vids.....and, keeps popping the message: DLNA protocol error (501) has occurred....also, .a network error has occurred 8071053dSometimes even saying: Disconnected from the media server...however, I"m still able to gain internet access....I figure it is just a setting on my desktop...I enabled sharing, etc on Windows Media Player.......kinda at a loss! jspot0Member Since: November 23, 2005Posts: 25jspot0FollowForum Posts: 25Followed by: 0Reviews: 0 Stacks: 0Fo
