Secondly, try turning off your Panasonic, powering up your Westinghouse TV, switching to the proper input, then powering up the Panasonic. If, after trying both procedures, it still fails to work, you may need to return/replace the Panasonic player.There are other ways to isolate the faulty component by substituting one or the other. I'm (typically) told by Panasonic that it's a firmware issue - a KNOWN firmware issue specific to the Westinghouse TV which requires an update of the TV. I performed the update... to no avail... Thanks anyway. RCA cables were pretty cool, right?! I'm now awaiting the long drawn out process of case numbers to sort this out. In the meantime I've gone component in and the picture is still pretty amazing... I suspect my work-around will remain in place for the life of this machine. Does the file sound ok on the computer? Sometimes files that are downloaded have bad audio tracks and I have seen cases where the encoding software that you are using messes up the file when it is modifying the file. Try another DVD or Blu-Ray disc and see if it still distorts. If it does then it may be a setting in the player or in the receiver.
