The team has 3 NICs. WAN: IP External LAN: IP Internal DMZ: IP DMZ In the same server is installed ISA2006 and published the DNS to the WAN IP. I get this error when I restart the DNS service: The DNS server could not signal the service "NAT". The error was 1168. Theremay be interoperability problems between the DNS service and this service. When I do a nslookup to myserver.empresa.com tells me: > server myserver.company.com *** Can't find address for server myserver.company.com : Server failed If I do respond well to the IP. That can happen? Please check http://www.windowsbbs.com/windows-server-system/49055-dns-problems-causing-clients-lose-internet-access.html Friday, October 29, 2010 9:08 PM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote I've checked all settings and correct, but the error comes when I restart the DNS server. Another strange thing is that from within the DNS console, do an nslookup and I do not resolve the server name, but the reverse zone records associated with the IP of the server. Monitor an unlimited number of servers with $49/year With the current low prices for servers and the need for processing power, even a small company may end up with quite a few of them. If ten years ago it was still common to see an entire company using just one server, these days that's no longer the case. New computers are added to the network with the understanding that they will be taken care of by the admins. Keeping an eye on these servers is a tedious, time-consuming process. Even with 5 minutes per server (to check the logs and other parameters), it may take an hour to make sure that https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/6f9d8ceb-7c99-4aa2-8c1c-dc2b45ef61af/the-dns-server-could-not-signal-the-service-nat?forum=winservergen everything is ok and no "red lights" are blinking on any of the servers. read more... Having changed http://www.eventid.net/display-eventid-113-source-DNS-eventno-3869-phase-1.htm ISP providers, it appears that keeping the old providers DNS servers was causing a massive slowdown. x 10 Martin Run ipconfig /all and see if there is a gateway. If not, then remove it from the network connection and re-add it. The gateway was not showing up on the command line but existed in the network connection. This worked for me. x 16 EventID.Net See MSW2KDB for information on this event. x 12 EventID.Net From a newsgroup post: "Are you using ICS or NAT in RRAS? That is also the reason why nothing is registering anymore. Disable ICS, and configure NAT under RRAS to stop the errors. THe 113 error is usually indicating that ICS is enabled, probably inadvertently, even though you are using NAT.
