I have LinkSys wireless router which http://www.gamespot.com/forums/playstation-nation-1000002/dns-error-80710102-26062638/ is working perfectly for other devices (like laptop, Xbox360, TiVO). My wireless network is configured to NOT broadcast the SID and with a WEP key. After entering this manually in the network setup on my PS3, I was able to obtain an ip address from my router, I was able to open the configureation page on my router, but connecting to the internet would fail http://community.us.playstation.com/t5/PlayStation-Network-Support/DNS-error-80710102-resolved/td-p/25577954 with some kind of DNS error. The way this was resolved for me (and I know someone else mentioned it in an other post here), was to enter the DNS server addresses manually in the PS3 network settings AND use tetertiary DNS server from my ISP as either the primary or the secondary DNS server. Voila... I am upgrading my PS3 software as I write this.... ..btw, this also fixed the similar problem I had with my PSP.. Thanks! The idea of using an external adapter with a PS3 is to bypass the PS3's internal wireless adapter, which is Wireless G. If you're using any Router that's over 3 years old with a newer bridge, extender, or adapter, you're wasting your time. The Router and Bridge should be able to transmit/receive on the same frequency bands. If you're using a Wireless G Router and Adapter, you're also wasting your time; the only reason you should be using an external adapter with a PS3 is if you've got a Dual-Band
