I was able to obtain an ip address from my router, I was able to open the configureation page on my router, but connecting to the internet would fail with some kind of DNS error. The way this was resolved for me (and I know someone else mentioned it in an other post here), was to enter the DNS server addresses manually in the PS3 network settings AND use tetertiary DNS server from my ISP as either the primary or the dns error code 80710102 secondary DNS server. Voila... I am upgrading my PS3 software as I write this.... ..btw, this also fixed the similar problem I had with my PSP.. Thanks! Typing the DNS servers method never worked for me. Two things need to be known with the Westel 327w versalink and need to be entered into the PS3 configuration.1) Your SSID (typically the S

This router uses the new ac technology which is replacing dns error ps3 80710101 the old n routers. It is specifically designed to stream video and transfer large files. I bought it because my old router (an old D-Link) has been giving me issues. It is pretty slow and often during streaming it has to stop http://community.us.playstation.com/t5/PlayStation-Network-Support/DNS-error-80710102-resolved/td-p/25577954 to buffer, and sometimes it just flat out stops transmitting a signal for a few minutes. Anyway, here is my issue. I have set up the new router and it works great. I can get online with all my devices (including my PS3), and at first there were no problems. I watched videos through both the Netflix and Amazon Instant Video apps without issue. Then, a couple of days ago (the router is still less than a week old), my wife called me up at work https://www.3dbuzz.com/forum/threads/201330-PS3-amp-new-router-issues and said that both streaming apps were signing out and wouldn't sign back in! I got home and troubleshooted (troubleshot?) for a couple of very frustrating hours, and eventually it just began working again. The next day, it did it again. This time I couldn't get it to work again. I still had full internet connectivity on my phone and tablet, so the router was functioning the way it should...but the two streaming apps just refused to sign in and work. To verify that it was the router and not the PS3, I swapped out the router back with the old D-Link and all of a sudden I had no problems. It seems like the problem is with my router, but the problem only exists on my PS3! This, of course, is why I'm posting here. Has anyone else had these issues? Is there a compatibility issue with ac routers maybe? Does anyone have an ac router with no streaming problems? I am ready to pull out my hair, and the last thing I want to do is send the router back. Two more things to note...even when the apps were working fine, I would still constantly get an error in the top right corner saying there was an error and I was logged out of Playstation Network. Second, I was getting a DNS error at first (from Amazon), so I followed some advice from another forum and changed from auto to manual (and entered the DNS numbers from the thread), and that error

When I diagnose the problem it says something dns error about DNS configuration? The problem is resolved by restarting my router but it's a pain in the arse if I'm on an online game.Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm not good with computers so keep it simple for idjuts like me :P(If this should be reposted elsewhere, just say (:) _R34LiTY_Member Since: December 1, 2008Posts: 3331_R34LiTY_FollowForum Posts: 3331Followed by: 0Reviews: 0 Stacks: 0Forum Karma: 0#2 Posted by _R34LiTY_ (3331 posts) ps3 dns error - 6 years, 5 months agopower cycling might help, but if it's intermitten, than it's either with your wireless adapter location(pc location to the router) or the router itself that isn't recieving/sending signal strong enough. I suppose you also get a lil computer icon with a little yellow triangle?diagnose as much as you can using Windows before you go into the router, but IF you have to, you can get into the router's login to change some settings.in your addresss bar, type in 192.168.1.1 .... a login prompt should appear. Belkin login are usually admin/admin or admin/blank and you canchange signal output and range and various other options.we usually work with NetGEar or LinkSys routers/gateways, so i dont exactly remember how Belkins router page looks like to tell you exactly whee to go. maybe i find screenshot of it markop2003Member Since: July 19, 2005Posts: 29917markop2003FollowForum Posts: 29917Followed by: 0Reviews: 0 Stacks: 0Forum Karma: 0#3 Posted by markop2003 (29917 posts) - 6 years, 5 months ago A DNS error shouldn't cause your PC to disconnect. DNS is just the domain name service, it converts URLs to IP addresses. Even if it had an error you should still be able to connect to the internet it would just return a page not found error everyti
