getting the DNS Error repeatedly. I tried rebooting both my PS3 and the modem/router a couple of times to no avail. Here's what finally did work for me. How to Fix PS3 DNS Error: You should change the http://www.gamespot.com/forums/playstation-nation-1000002/dns-error-80710102-26204313/ DNS address on your PlayStation(not your modem) to some other value. This is what someone suggested on the PlayStation community website. So I tried the addresses from Opendns and it worked just fine for me. How to Change DNS settings: You need to configure your Internet Connection(Wired or Wireless) once again. Go to Settings > Network Settings > Internet Connection Settings Select Yes, then Custom Choose your connection method - Wired or Wireless If you're Wired, select Auto-Detect http://www.callingallgeeks.org/solved-ps3-dns-error-80710102-on-playstation-network/ for the Ethernet Operation Mode If you're Wireless, select the security type that your router is using and enter your Wireless Password IP Address Settings - Automatic and then Do Not Set (DHCP host name) Now set DNS Settings to Manual and enter the numbers below Primary DNS 208.67.222.222 Secondary DNS 208.67.220.220 Set the rest of the settings as follows: MTU - Automatic Proxy Server - Do Not Use UPnP - Enable Then press X to save the settings, and then X again to test the connection. The ‘Internet Connection' should now pass, and hopefully there will be no more DNS errors! If you have any other PlayStation related questions feel free to ask us via comments. Called Netflix & they told me it is a Sony problem? Options Mark as New Bookmark Subscribe Subscribe to RSS Feed Highlight Print Email to a Friend Report 2 replies 5129 views Edited Jan 25, 2014 O.k. I have a direct wired connection to my PS3 (I am not using a router) & set everything to automatic. My ISP is Charter dns error & I get 30down & 5up streams. After an hour & a half on Netflix, I get a 80710102 error screen & have to exit, resign my PSN account & re-enter Netflix again. When I'm back in Netflix, it gives me that error again, only this time it happenes every 15+ minutes instead of the initial ~2 hours. The DNS error screen does not happen when I am browsing the PS3 web dns error ps3 broswer or when I'm in the PSstore or when downloading stuff.I tested it out watching Netflix on the 360 & there is no problems. I never get any DNS errors that stop playback even after 4 hours of use. This ONLY happenes when watching Netflix on the PS3.I tried alternative DNS numbers8.8.4.48.8.8.84.2.2.14.2.2.2208.67.222.222208.67.220.220and a few more DNS numbersALL of them have the exact same problem, first hour or two are fine & I get kicked off Netflix & have to sign in back again & afterwards I can only watch it for 15-20 minutes before it happens again.I called Netflix & after an hour they just told me to call Sony, cause it is there problem.Closest I could find a solution to this was a small article here:https://support.unlocator.com/customer/portal/articles/1265998-netflix-errors-on-playstation-3"Recently Sony has made changes to the Netflix application on the PlayStation 3, which is resulting in all sorts of errors when using a DNS provider like Unlocator. This change only affects the PlayStation 3 and not all users are experiencing it."Has anyone experienced this? How can I solve this? Is it Sony's fault, Netflixs fault, my ISP fault? Where do I start? Report FB Tweet G+ Message 1 of 3 (5,129 Views) Reply 0 Likes FTWer First Son
