The first time I tried https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3nItM1brDI it kept on coming up that the IP had timed out. Finally I switched to the manual IP setting and entered the IP and DNS addresses correctly. This time the error 8041040F came up. I phoned the PSP technical support and explained my problem. They said I should contact my internet provider (aol) to recieve the http://www.gamespot.com/forums/playstation-nation-1000002/dns-error-8041040f-25401689/ correct DNS address so I did. They told me to use the cmd IPCONFIG/ALL in the command box, my settings came up and I compared them with those on my PSP's internet settings. All were correct. I have also contacted my routers manufacturers, Netgear, about the problem. They told me to contact PSP again so I did so. They then told me to contact AOL..... again. Below are my router settings.Connection Name: Connection 1WLAN Security Setting: WEPAddress Settings: CustomIP Address Setting: ManualIP Address: 192.168.0.1Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0Default Router: 192.168.0.1Primary DNS: 192.168.0.1Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0Proxy: Do Not UseInternet Browser: Do Not StartIt also comes up on the test results that the internet connection failed. Can anyone please help me? DNS error could be that their router IP changed. you can easily manually set up wifi connection if you know: router IP subnet mask (255.255.255.0) DNS server (if the router IP is 192.168.200.1 then the DNS is usually just that) Share psp dns error Share this post on Digg Del.icio.us Technorati Twitter HAIL TO TH E K I N G B A B Y! But every since yesterday it randomly stopped working. It always worked. I have 4 connections I can connect to on my sisters laptop(which I'm using right now). 3 have passwords(including mine-and yes I entered it correctly). The one I'm using doesn't. But how do I go about changing it because I wanna play FTB3 haha because I'm bored. And then what do I enter as the secondary DNS because I can't goto the next page when creating a connection if I don't have the secondary DNS entered.. When I use my wifi on this laptop or the one downstairs, in which the router was created on it still gives me a "this page can not be displayed error" whats up? I've tried everything Share Share this post on Digg Del.icio.us Technorati Twitter Add my Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000399408183 Reply With Quote 06-29-2011,06:43 PM #4 shivadow Banned -Hacks Monk Join Date Feb 2009 Posts 2,598 Rep Power 0 First set the DNS as 8.8.8.8, it's google's own DNS.
