For example: SQL> create table "Bla" as select * from dual; Table created. SQL> drop table bla; drop table bla * ERROR at line 1: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist SQL> drop table "Bla"; Table dropped. So, when using quoted identifiers, the name of your object becomes case-sensitive...you should check that. What does select user from dual; show you when run in SQL*Plus (e.g. right after/before running the create table) share|improve

The oracle version I have is the following: SQL*Plus: Release 11.2.0.2.0 Production The following is the command I used to create a table in the database: CREATE TABLE "Product" ( "ProuctID" VARCHAR2(8) NOT NULL ENABLE, "ProductExpiryDate" DATE, "CustomerID" VARCHAR2(8), CONSTRAINT "Product_PK" PRIMARY KEY ("ProductID") ENABLE ) ; Command for does not exist describing the table: Desc Product; But at the end after creating each table and describe it I get this: ORA-04043: object Product does not exist Can anyone please tell me why I am I getting this, when I can see it in Oracle Xpress web page? sql oracle11g share|improve this question edited Feb 19 at 21:20 asked Feb 19 at 21:16 David Dickeson 32 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote accepted By enclosing the table name in double quotes, you created the table with a case-sensitive name. To correctly specify the name, you now have to always enclose it in double quotes. So instead of Desc Product, you need Desc "Product". Because this is quite cumbersome and error-prone, it's usually best to avoid enclosing table and column names in double quotes in the first place. If possible, I'd recommend you either drop & recreate the table or rename it. share|improve this answer answered Feb 19 at 21:29 Frank Schmitt 18.8k63368 Thanks a lot that helped me a lot I am now able to see me tables! –David Dickeson Feb 19 at 21:53 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Email discard By posting y
