App using ClickOnce Visual Studio Development > Visual Studio Setup and Installation Question 1 Sign in to vote I have a number of VS2005 applications which I have installed successfully using ClickOnce a number of times before. However, lately, on installing the applications they have started to give the error message below while installing the pre-requisite programs e.g. .Net 2.0 Framework Copying https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH93534.html files to temporary directory "C:\DOCUME~1\Njuguna\LOCALS~1\Temp\VSDD.tmp\"Downloading files to "C:\DOCUME~1\Njuguna\LOCALS~1\Temp\VSDD.tmp\"(5/11/2007 10:01:44 AM) Downloading 'dotnetfx\dotnetfx.exe' from 'file://programmer/logisys/dotnetfx/dotnetfx.exe' to 'C:\DOCUME~1\Njuguna\LOCALS~1\Temp\VSDD.tmp\'Download completed at 5/11/2007 10:01:44 AMDownloading failed with HRESULT=-2146697211 I have re-published the applications to no avail. I have also tried installing them on other workstations to no success. But the applications Install Okay on my https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/2b470612-0700-4c79-9748-d5bf0d8e9c21/downloading-failed-with-hresult2146697211-error-while-installing-app-using-clickonce?forum=vssetup workstation but not on any other in the LAN network. When I manually copy the pre-requiste programs to the workstations, some of them then load Okay while others give the error message:- You are not allowed to update Windows XP. Could it be that a change in the LAN network configuration is causing the error? Friday, May 11, 2007 11:55 AM Reply | Quote Answers 0 Sign in to vote I have found out what was wrong. In some cases, the catalog download fails, hence no files will be available on that endpoint. This is the case I will discuss today. Of course there are other cases as well, which I will discuss in the next articles. So today's case is about the catalog download which fails for all platform specific catalogs with a HTTP Error 28 timeout.
