Thread Status: Not open for further replies. Advertisement Nazbuster Thread Starter Joined: May 21, 2005 Messages: 5 I have been experiencing an odd problem off and on which escapes a clear resolution. Boots fail with the message, "lsass.exe The endpoint format is invalid". The system works in safe mode but fails on a normal boot. I'm running XP Home, 1g ram, dual 120gb RAID drives, Asus motherboard with onboard networking using Marvel Yukon 88E8053 PCI-E gigabit ethernet. I've already done the XP repair routine (twice). Applied all updates. This doesn't seem to correct the basic issue. My most recent fix was to allow windows to reallocate the paging file. This got me past the boot error, but brought up windows with an error declared in Device Manager relating to the network card driver. Removing the driver and allowing windows to scan for hardware fixes the networking issue. Unfortunately, a reboot again returned to the boot error. Simply rebooting again got me past that but back to the bad driver for the nic. On the reboot after a successful fix, it seems to boot twice.. then lands on the lsass.exe error. I've looked via Google for others having the same problem. Threre are MANY listed, but none offer up a solution that's definitive. Anyone have suggestions? Nazbuster, Nov 28, 2005 #1 Sponsor Rollin' Rog Joined: Dec 9, 2000 Messages: 45,855 I'm wondering if it might be due to a corrupt page file. Perhaps elimininating it , rebooting, and re-enabling it would be worth trying if you haven't already. Also I have seen this problem somehow associated with Windows update in the past -- and the victim just turned off Windows update and waited a few days, and apparently the error went away: http://forums.techguy.org:80/t398803&highlight=lsass.exe+endpoint+format+invalid.html Rollin' Rog
