I am getting this error message after the desktop has loaded. I've a HP Desktop with Windows XP SP3. Sunday I uninstalled my HP Printer with Revo and entry point not then installed a new Canon MX436. I followed the install guide carefully and the printer is working ok. Monday the RUNDLL32.EXE error message started showing up. I've scanned with Malwarebytes,Spybot, Avast and Superantiyspyware- they were all ok. Edited, doing a search for "the procedure entry point_except_handler4_common could not be located in the dynamic link library MSVCRT.dll" all lead to the same article linked above as an answer that appears to work. Which right now is not entry, as the error message tells you. You need to prefix extern "C" to the declaration to disable C++ name mangling. Good enough for a 64-bit executable, but that turns it into _entry@16 if this is a 32-bit DLL, still not quite good enough to keep rundll32 happy. Use Project + Add New Item, Code node, pick the "Module-Definition File (.def)" item template.
