- Entry Point Not Found Discussion in 'Software' started by dylanm666, Jul 3, 2007. dylanm666 Private E-2 Whenever I try and open Internet Explorer on my other computer (recently just changed entry point not found windows 8 the motherboard, processor, hard drive, memory, and video card and installed most drivers). To install entry point not found windows xp some important drivers such as USB 2.0 and stuff I need SP1, which we all know can be downloaded through "Windows update". .exe entry point not found But whenever I hit windows update it doesnt do anything and when I try and go to microsoft.com and download it from the website I try and open my internet browser and I get this error: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp-update/iexploreexe-entry-point-not-found/fbff81e1-67d1-4ff5-b2a6-c64df88938e7 iexplore.exe -Entry Point Not Found - The procedure entry point SHRegGetValueW could not be located in the dynamic link library SHLWAPI.dll". I'll attach the resolution here, in case you cannot view it. RESOLUTION To recover your computer, follow these steps: 1. Start your computer and log on as you typically do.
